It’s hard to tell for sure, but this looks like an Asian-on-Asian assault. According to reports, passersby started to yell. And that caused the attackers to run off.
I suppose New York will respond to this latest crime by keeping no-bail policies in place, but requiring baseball bats to be registered.
Oops. I meant to say:
… by keeping no-bond-needed policies in place, but requiring baseball bats to be registered.

I suggest hang them from the nearest streetlight from the crime and let them rot a bit and require the family of the criminals take them down.

It’s hard to tell for sure, but this looks like an Asian-on-Asian assault. I thought the same thing. Its only a guess, but the perps didn't have the build, or gate, of usual ghetto thugs.
If I had to create a scenario, her ex-boyfriend isn't happy with her or she owes someone money - and they hired some Chinese gangsters to go after her.
