So, we’ve been canning some peaches. I just found out the cost of 1 bushel of peaches. $75.00. I used to pay $12.00. I am stunned, as they grow everywhere here....we barely have to drive to get them.

wow, must be must be Justin’s taxes, some of it. I just picked up peaches and apples at the Mennonite store. They had really awesome eating peaches, $26 a half bushel. Canning peaches, baby gold, were $20 for a special, as were the apples.

You may have gotten better peaches that you can actually eat as well. The baby golds - ou can’t do anything but can, believe me I tried last year. I thought I could save money lol. Oh I guess you can bake with them but they are very firm and you have to add extra sugar. I just made peachsauce and canned them. Still have some from last year so I didn’t buy any.

OK, I have to ask, how many dozens of quarts are you putting up? That’s a southern term
