And it is time to fight them on their own terms instead.

So we all become baby killers, deliberately and cheerfully? That cure is worse than the disease.

The Muslims who attacked on October 7th are despicable, and it is certainly true that they are supported by the general population in Gaza. There are no civilians.

But becoming despicable ourselves (or through our agents, the Israelis) is not a solution.

What is the solution? One distinction between 'us' (meaning, those with Western values) and 'them' (meaning those with barbaric values), is that for us killing non-combatants (which includes those who are not really civilians) is never the goal. It happens, and successful 'Western-values' militaries don't let that fact handcuff them into ineffectivenss, but it's still never the goal. But the Muslims think all Western-values militaries are cowards because they bomb their enemies from high-flying airplanes without giving the enemies the opportunity for 'honorable' combat.

Conversely, Muslims see no distinction between deliberately targeting non-combatants - including children - and targeting combatants. Capturing non-combatant women is especially 'good' because once a woman is 'under your hand' you can rape her with the blessing of Mohammed (and therefore of Allah). As long as it is done 'one-on-one' where the opponent can see you and has a theoretical chance to fight back, then it's 'honorable.'

The solution is as the Israelis did to stop the suicide bombers.
1) Control access very carefully. Body searches at checkpoints.
2) If someone does succeed in becoming a suicide bomber, destroy his home (typically an apartment building) and leave every other person living in that building homeless. The Israelis failed on both elements on October 7th, but the key is that the response is deliberately personal (putting the other residents of the building on the street). That is the way to make the other residents reject Hamas. Right now, there is no penalty (in Gaza) for supporting Hamas, and a lot of penalties if you do not. The penalty for support has to become higher than for non-support.

The specific application here is that the buildings that housed the recently-rescued hostages need to be demolished. Buildings that housed/hid tunnel entrances or weapon stockpiles need to be demolished. No two stones standing one upon the other.

Then let the Qatari pay to rebuild.

Of course, that's not possible with Biden standing by to throw our money at the Muslims (less his 10%).

Just a question. How many "babies" did we kill in Tokyo, Dresden, Cologne, Nagasaki, Hiroshima....?

Respectfully, you might consider reading a little history. Do you think any "kids" were killed in the American Civil war? How about 9 year olds, 10 year olds? From combat, disease, starvation? you know... from war.

“Historians estimate that anywhere between 250,000 and 420,000 boy soldiers, many in early their teens or even younger served in the armies of the Union and the Confederacy between 1861 - 1865... Some 15 percent were seriously wounded or died from battle wounds, diarrhea, infections or malnutrition.” Emmy E. Werner, Reluctant Witnesses: Children’s Voices from the Civil War

War is violence without "rules". The only rules are made by the victorious and those with no understanding about the very nature of war or armed conflict.

You do realize that CIVILIANS make up the majority of all casualties in ANY WAR.

Do you think our "precision" guided weapons avoided children or turning entire families into goo and splatter? That video of the IDF going in and freeing hostages was missing the part about the explosives used to "confuse" the Hamas combatants.

I am a little suprised that people don't read about what war is really all about. My grandfather, 8 uncles, father, cousins and son are/were in the armed forces or fought in a revolution/insurgency.

War is horrible but it's better than watching your family laying on the front lawn with slit throats, raped, or splattered across the street. and yeah..... sometimes you got to get your hands dirty and that most soldiers/marines that have been "in war" know that and don't usually brag about stuff they did, other than their job or the bravery they witnessed.
