That's why I said last night that Trump should demand that the RNC move up its convention by a week to get around Merchan's sentencing date. And then hold the nomination virtually like Biden to expedite the nomination process.
That way, Merchan will now be sentencing the duly nominated general election candidate opposing Joe Biden for President. In fact, Trump should finalize his FEC papers ASAP after that so there is no doubt that Merchan is sentencing the official opposition candidate.
The test is to see if Merchan counters by moving up his sentencing date in retaliation. That would prove that the whole thing was a plot to keep Trump from running against Biden.

Just being a candidate won’t stop anything. He has to be in office.
He set the date. Have judges ever changed the date of sentencing after setting it just to screw the defendant?
If Merchan changes the date again to leapfrog the RNC convention, then it proves that the entire trial was a sham to keep Trump from running against Biden.

Whoever guaranteed that was a fool. The best outcome we could hope for was a hung jury, given this judge and jury pool.
Trump got as fair a trial as black men accused of raping white women in Mississippi in 1868 got. And white democrats would just keep saying, “Noone is above the law.”

I think Trump should goad Biden to keep sending aid, troops, arms, etc. to Ukraine. Maybe Putin will help us out.
Maximum Juan will give him about 15 years by stacking consecutive sentences. Trump will be behind bars for a while as the judge will set an extraordinary bail for him to be out while on appeal. I think it’s over, the dems own all the mechanisms to make it happen.

There will be no jail time.
The last time they tried an excessive bail the NY appeals court reduced it by a huge amount. This court could try the same nonsense again but I doubt it would stand.

I believe that the plan is for the judge to sentence Trump to jail in which he will be murdered.
