Makes sense to me. And probably also to Russian prisoners because they don’t enjoy the benefits of American country club prisons.
Sounds to me like few Ukrainians want to fight anymore. So Zelensky is rounding them up like they are his slaves or something. I can’t wait until some Ukrainian patriot takes that punk out.
Not enough Depend Diapers available.
“ Even so, given how many restrictions there are the number taking up the offer may be slim, especially given the law stipulating that once released from prison, the only way out of military service is essentially death or victory, or returning to prison in the case of recidivists.”

This is no different than terms of service for “regular” Ukrainian volunteers and conscripts and these prisoners… THEY’RE ALL IN FOR THE DURATION OR DEATH/MAIMING. The prisoners’ sentences have an end date but their war participation would not.
Bwahahaha! Best laugh I’ve had all day! Thanks!
I try lol
Some of those gulaged in the past when pu into uniform and put into trenches or foxholes with 48 hours of being detained.
This will be over for NATO before November.
When I joined up in December 73 most of my Unit in the 82d were enlisted in lieu of prison.... Additionally there entire platoons of Mexicans being given citizenship in 1974 and taught English.
Nothing new.
Russia has their own foreign legion call Wagner. The French have one too. The point you miss is that those two countries properly train their recruits. The Ukraine military simply dresses them up and put them at the front within 72 hours.
Russia is not desperate. They have over 1,000 volunteers every day and they conscripted 20,000 a month. Russia has gone from 380k to 1.2m under arms since 2022. In July that number will 1.5m, in January 1.8m and in July 2025 2.1m under arms. They will maintain 2.1 - 2.2m after 2026.Ukraine is screwed.
