"I'll just watch one episode to see what everyone's talking about". I had no idea what I was about to get in to. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic was meant for little girls but it connected with adult nerds (the central character is a nerd who gets sent to a small town to learn about friendship). Some guys on 4Chan watched the premier to make fun of it but were amazed by how good the show was and it blew up on the internet from there. Since I watched the first episode in 2012 I have been to five BronyCons and about a hundred meetups while making real adult friends along the way.
