Don’t worry, she’ll be back if she ever even leaves. Since she’s a Democrat the whole thing is likely to be dropped.
Mitchell has a perfect 100% liberal voting record in the MN Senate, and if the unthinkable happens — she is actually charged with a crime! — the DFL can easily afford to virtue signal and dump her if that becomes absolutely necessary.
The 47th Senate district is fairly safe (D+9) and is centered around the ultra-liberal city of Woodbury in Washington County: upscale, over-educated, Trump-loathing (and not too fond of other Republicans either), rabid pro-abortionist Karens, etc.
This formerly marginal suburban area has taken a hard left turn in the past 10-20 years, judging by its election results.
There’s more to this story than either the police, press or the accused are saying.
i read she wanted her father’s ashes.
Yeah, this is simply some sort of family squabble that got out of hand and ended in an arrest. It’s a bit like those hysterical child abduction alerts; 99% of the time it’s the result of a custody dispute.
I did a search on this case to find this article link.
CBS News
Minnesota State Sen. Nicole Mitchell burgled stepmother’s home to get father’s ashes, sentimental items, charges say
When I clicked on the article, this was the article title:
Minnesota State Sen. Nicole Mitchell, charged with burglary, says she was checking on loved one with Alzheimer’s
So she was attempting to get her father’s ashes along with other stuff, but when caught, claimed step mom has Alzheimer’s.
My MIL married another man well after my FIL had passed away. They had set expectations about heirlooms, money etc. so everyone understood their wishes. He passed first and she was able to use his $$ for lodging and transportation, but when she passed, his remaining $$ went to their church. This allowed her mom to hang onto her $$ and leave a little bit for her three kids.
“i read she wanted her father’s ashes.”
That makes sense. It doesn’t necessarily justify “burglary,” but I figured there must be some deeper family issue, not B&E to boost the flatscreen or soomething.
