A second seated juror was dismissed on Thursday after they were sworn in by the judge presiding over the Stormy Daniels ‘hush money’ trial.
One juror on Thursday was already excused from service after she admitted to concerns about her impartiality upon being officially sworn in by Judge Juan Merchan.
“Yesterday alone, I had friends and family push things to me,” the first dismissed juror stated. “I don’t think at this point that I can be fair and unbiased.”
A second juror was dismissed over his past arrest. Details of juror number 4’s criminal past were not disclosed.
NBC News reported:
After they had a conference with the juror, Merchan announced he’s excusing juror No. 4, who had previously been seated and sworn him. His prior arrest was questioned by the DA.
A seated juror was called for questioning, with prosecutors inquiring about whether or not he was truthful in answering questions about his past criminal history.
Following a conference between the juror and Merchan, the judge said, the juror “expressed annoyance about how much information was out there about him in the public.”
And Merchan sealed the portion of the transcript where he says the juror discussed “highly personal” information.
Jury selection was underway on Thursday for Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg’s lawfare case against Trump. Last April Trump was hit with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records and conspiracy.
Judge Merchan admonished the mainstream media for excessive exposure of juror information. He announced that potential jurors’ places of employment would be removed from the public record and instructed members of the media to refrain from describing jurors’ appearances.

at this rate we will be in the middle of trump’s third term as president when they complete seating the jury...

You will NEVER find a jury in Manhattan unless they are all Trump haters, period end of story. This “Case” should have NEVER been filed, Cyrus Vance didnt go forward with it, Bragg didnt want to either til Trump decided to run for President and the White House told him to file charges
The problem with juries, all juries, is your fate is in the hands of 12 people who were too stupid to get out of jury duty in the first place.....................
Do they have to finish seating all 12 BEFORE they choose the alternates?

well intended folks can attempt to be objective politically-
often times over compensating or under compensating.
someone can nail the perfect middle of the road and occasionally flipped coins land on their side.
Obv this is just my opinion based in part on my inability to cross paths with anyone that can consistently offer objective political opinion.

Not to mention the ones that think getting paid $20 a day with a lunch is a great deal.
I do think too much information about the jurors was released to the public. We all know that the ones who decide to vindicate President Trump are the ones who will fear repercussions the most.
As an aside, I wonder if an endless failure to seat a jury eventually becomes a mistrial. Preliminaries can’t go on forever.
So does the right. Like it or not, we need a stealth MAGA on the
jury. I would lean into taking black men on the Jury. Most likely someone qho listens to hip hop(50 cent). There are signals that the attorneys can use to determine probability of a stealth Trump supporter. Trump and his campaign (not to mention the RNC) has a plethora of information on what constitutes a Trump voter in 2024).
No problem they have already replaced the jurors.
Nancy Pelosi and AOC are the two new impartial jurors .
