Democrat Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) broke ways with President Joe Biden on Sunday after he said he wouldn’t support Israel if it retaliated against Iran.
During an interview with CNN, Fetterman told host Jake Tapper that he disagreed with Biden’s stance, saying he would never "capitulate to the fringe" or “pander” to the Democratic Party.
“Do you think that's the right call or should direct U.S. military action, as some of your colleagues in the Senate are suggesting, should that be on the table?" Tapper asked.
The president made it clear that he would not back Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in any offenses against Iran despite Biden saying one day prior that the United State's support for Israel was “ironclad."
“I don't agree with that, I just think we should follow and have Israel's back in the situation. I don't agree with the president. That doesn't change anything that he‘s a fantastic president. I‘m proud to stand with him and campaign for him and vote for him," Fetterman said.
The Israel Defense Forces said the country is “prepared and ready” with defensive actions. However, it is unclear whether Netanyahu will retaliate.
Following Iran’s drone attack on Israel, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said that the White House made Biden and Netanyahu’s conversation public, calling it "offensive" and claimed the Biden Administration is trying to "appease the far left in his party."
In response, Fetterman said that Biden is “entitled to his own views and whatever he decides to do. But I would never capitulate to the fringe. I'll never pander to that as well. In fact, that empowers Hamas, and Hamas, they're actually convinced they're winning the PR war. And they’re never going to negotiate at this point. They think that they’re going to hold onto the very end.” Recommended Cori Bush Really Did Just Post This As Israel Was Being Attacked by Iran Rebecca Downs
“And I know why they’re not willing to provide any kind of proof of life. And I don’t know why there’s not more of that conversation in the media, like what about the hostages? What’s happened to them? Where are they now? And let’s just bring them home. And then all of the harsh words should be directed at Hamas, which started this. And now continues to hold all of over 100 Israeli hostages,” the Democrat added.
Fetterman said it is astonishing for the U.S. to “not standing firmly with Israel,” adding that “there should never be any kinds of conditions on all that” when a nation can launch hundreds of drones towards Israel.
The Biden Administration defended its decision, saying that it is not looking to widen the war in the region.
“It demonstrates how unstable things are and why we need to lean in and stand with Israel,” he continued.
Pennsylvania Ping!
Please ping me with articles of interest.
FReepmail me to be added to the list.
Strokes can change people, their appearance shouldn’t however.
Lunacy is relative.
Biden makes Fetterman appear less of a lunatic than he is.
When we used to have somewhat balanced news coverage (The Brady Bunch was premiering) Fetterman is the one they would announce “And now someone who disagrees with our other Democrat guest....”
Now they feature the Leftist, Far Leftist and “don’t even ask” Leftist on the news.
Nay! Don’t give this POS any kudos because when the rubber meets the road he ALWAYS VOTES with his party. ALWAYS!!! Don’t be fooled.
As a side note, some conservatives think Fetterman is a Deep State plant. I don’t think so. I think he’s a classical liberal. Often wrong, but not radical.
He is certainly better than Junior Casey.
Well - I can’t speak to the nut job Fetterman... he is a train wreck of epic proportions...
But here’s the thing (regardless of one’s views of Israel):
Israel has the absolute right to do WHATEVER IT DARNED WELL WANTS TO in relation to Iran. The US (and several other nations) have put a choke chain on Israel for decades - restringing them from doing the very things they SHOULD have done for years... We have tied their hands - while we arm them to the teeth - we restrict their use in their own defense.
Reality is - I suspect Israel might be able to do what the US spent two decades trying to accomplish... and that is strike a massive, long-term blow to Islamic Terrorism.
Of course - Israel isn’t the one funding Iran - OIL + US $$$ have helped Iran to be the top overt supporter of international terrorism - including that against Israel.
Notice - the US and the G7 (who Biden supposedly convened an emergency meeting of), the UN, and even NATO have refused to officially and effectively say anything or do anything regarding Hamas, Islamic Jihad, , Hezbollah, and other radical terror groups that are 99% funded directly by Iran - even trained by Iran and equipped by Iran...
Fetterman may be a brain-dead imbecile... but this isn’t the first issue he has actually been on the correct side of lately... I wonder if he is worried he might not win another election?
He is better than more than a handful of useless RINO “Republicans”... and while wrong on most issues - at least he is semi-honest about those issues.
He is also for kicking out squatters and few other things. What happened?
Biden isn’t a lunatic. He’s just totally self-interested. It doesn’t matter what bad things happen to others, so long as it doesn’t affect him. He’s trying to appear presidential, and he wants to take the Islamic vote. He will, because he’s the least bad choice for the Religion of Peace.
But he’s turning out to be a pretty good Democrat.
Yes the democrat party has an eye open for another Biden replacement we’ll see next month Biden is quicksand for the party now.
Gotta call my bookie tomorrow.
> He [Fetterman] is also for kicking out squatters and few other things. <
I forgot about the squatter issue. Yes, it’s another point in his favor.
> What happened? <
I’m thinking that Fetterman is a classical liberal, in the mold of someone like Harry Truman. That’s pretty rare in the Democrat Party these days.
Will DC money and DC power eventually corrupt Fetterman? I hope not, but it’s a real possibility.
Maybe a Daniel Patrick Moynihan?
Is Uncle Fester running For Prez???
He might be the rabbit pulled out of the hat at the Convention.
Some believers prayed for him, thank God.
And all the people said Amen.
