In 2017, Cuomo signed an executive order prohibiting State Agencies from inquiring about immigration status. In 2018 as Governor, Cuomo banned ICE arrests in state buildings. In 2019 he signed the Bill to give illegals driver's licenses. He also pardoned several illegals to prevent them from being deported. He supported expanding legal assistance to illegals. He signed the Bill that approved the Dream Act in New York State in 2021 to aid illegals.
