Donald Trump added another victory Tuesday night in the Beehive State after voting difficulties delayed reporting of the outcome.

Utah will deliver all of its 40 delegates to Trump in a resounding caucus victory for the former president in a state where he did not win the primary in 2016. Utah gives all its delegates to a candidate exceeding 50 percent of the vote.

The results were delayed by a comedy of voting system errors, including an overwhelmed website the state party attributed to turnout that exceeded expectations. The Associated Press did not call the race for Trump until 3:59 a.m. EST, hours after Trump addressed a crowd of supporters at Mar-A-Lago.

My mom was a GOP poll-watcher and canvasser in NY State from the 1940s until the 1980s.

NY election boards used those analogue counting machines with the lever and curtain - and paper ballots

For the entire county, they were done counting and had their results reported within an hour of the polls closing. She would be home by 10 PM, and we’d watch West Coast results.

I suspect the increasing “complexity” of US electoral systems is simply designed to cover FRAUD.

“Technical difficulties”. Election officials have one job to do and they are only called to do that job a couple times each year (and many years not even that often). It never fails that many voting precincts have “technical issues” at just the time they are required to perform. Label me a “skeptic”.

I miss those days of curtains and paper ballots. We always knew who the winners were before midnight, with few exceptions (such as an extremely tight race).
