The Democratic “coalition” contains every possible element, plus the opposite of that element. Give something to the heterosexual black family and you’ve upset the gay, transgender whatever. Everyone in the coalition is seeking to be the most oppressed and any acknowledgment of one group elevates another group into being lesser oppressed. None of these are nice people you can reach a mutually agreeable compromise with. None of them can give up even an inch of cultural real-estate to accommodate someone else’s needs. They are, as a group from the ten-thousand-foot level, loud, in-your-face obnoxious screamers. Even if Biden was an astute politician, which he never was, he has zero maneuver room.
