Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis confirmed a personal relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade in a court filing Friday, though denied the relationship provided her with any financial benefit.
A co-defendant of former President Donald Trump alleged in a Jan. 8 motion that Willis improperly benefited from awarding Wade a lucrative contract when he took her on vacations using money he earned from his position, claiming this was grounds to disqualify Willis and dismiss the case. Willis responded Friday by arguing that their relationship does not represent a conflict of interest and never provided her with any financial benefit.
“While the allegations raised in the various motions are salacious and garnered the media attention they were designed to obtain, none provide this Court with any basis upon which to order the relief they seek,” the filing states.
In an affidavit attached to the filing, Wade stated that their relationship developed in 2022, and that they had no relationship other than as friends at the time of his appointment. He notes that expenses for personal travel “travel were roughly divided equally between us.”
Additionally, he stated that Willis at times “has made and purchased travel for she and I from her personal funds.”
“Roman’s motion wildly speculates that District Attorney Willis somehow benefited financially from the investigation and prosecution of this criminal case, but provides no support to justify that conclusion,” the district attorney’s motion states. “To be absolutely clear, the personal relationship between Special Prosecutor Wade and District Attorney Willis has never involved direct or indirect financial benefit to District Attorney Willis.”

According to Willis’ response, she has “no personal conflict of interest that justifies her disqualification personally or that of the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office, and that the “attacks on Special Prosecutor Wade’s qualifications are factually inaccurate, unsupported, and malicious, in addition to providing no basis whatsoever to dismiss the indictment or disqualify Special Prosecutor Wade.”
Just play her interview before she was elected where she talked about these types of relationships and how they are corrosive.

Funneling state money to a boyfriend sounds like embezzlement. And doing so by prosecuting a illegitimate case sounds like something worse.

The people they visited in the White House are subject to be called as witnesses in the case and deposed by every defendant.
So they are going with the “We go Dutch when we go cruisin’ together your honor.” “He’s my man.” “She’s my girl.” There is “no evidence” your honor. So, let us get to this RICO case and get back to persecuting Trump and his clan of lawbreakers! If the judge doesn’t dismiss this allegation as just a racist attack then Fanny will be in church on February 18th accusing him of being a racist. These two clowns are in it deep now. They have to twist and turn all of their lies together to make sure their story lines up with any “evidence” out there. There is one thing that cannot be denied by Fanny - if Wade is her lover and they are dining and dancing together then the judge should be able to ask them for their credit card receipts that show their Dutch Date Nights together! If this is all above board then whenever they dine together they would surely have the waiter/waitress give them “separate checks.” Beings they started their relationship in 2022 there should be a paper trail with ample evidence to show how ethical they are to ensure there is NO EVIDENCE of impropriety!
