Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Sunday vowed to stay in the presidential race for the “long haul” despite a poor showing in the final Iowa poll before Monday’s caucuses.
“We’ve got a huge number of people that have committed to caucus, and we expect that these are the people that turn out,” DeSantis told CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union” before a slate of events in Iowa.
“We’re in this for the long haul. We understand that you got to win a majority of the delegates. We understand that that there’s a long process here, but we’re going to do well, because we’ve done it right.”

BTW... he's already said he's looking to start campaigning in South Carolina, after IA...
I guess being in 5th place in the NH polls, decided that for him.
neverbackdown, really?
The man does love a good beating...apparently!
ha!
Whatever Guv,Your Done!
I heard he will not be in Iowa tomorrow, and his wife has already left for South Carolina.
Make no mistake.... the GOPe still has deep pockets and they are NOT going down without a fight so they will continue to fund any candidate who is anti-Trump because that is what the GOPe has become. We could be spending all of this money on defeating Biden, but they remain more interested in defeating Trump.
One of the best things about “Trump” is he constantly shows us who they are - the people who really don’t like their voters react to Trump like my dog does to a hamburger on the floor. They just can’t stop themselves.
I think he’s joshing people. He’ll pull a Chris Christie and suddenly drop out on Tuesday. The long haul strategy is just talk and him showing his supporters some optimism and gaslighting.
Apparently, that participation trophy had an impact.
Don’t embarrass yourself like Jeb……
Is there lots of Dem money to play mischief in the Repub side of things this year?
Hasn’t Rob blown through the $300 million he raised already?
Who will give him more??
At least 200 million...
And at an event, DonJr says jeff roe got over 60% of it directed to his media companies...
So we know who got rich, now...
Nailed it.
And he won’t quit the football team no matter how many wedgies he gets in the lockerroom.
He should stay in the race until the end. Learn from the experince Trump only gets one term if he wins. Whoever Trump picks as VP will have the inside track on another 4 years, but if Trump picks a nimrod then that will not be the case.
he’s enjoying the travel around the country on tax payer dime while being paid for doing minimal of his job.
Imagine you were hired to do a job in Florida and told your employer, “I’m going to campaign for another job and work from Iowa.”
Would Trump really pick DeSantis?
So, going to try and split the vote, thanks a lot.
Ron, the horse is dead. Get off! 😏
I’m enjoying watching him walk around on stilts, play acting
like he isn’t.
“We will see if his money dries up after Iowa, or not”
my first thought as well ...
