Not to mention the frequent recesses and a month off in the summer and then take off for the year just before Thanksgiving.
Cue the violins.
Not on the take like others are.
They don’t even read the bills to be voted on much of the time.
Aww, you poor slob. Hope your retirement is short and miserable.
Why bother? After all, "we need to pass the bill in order to find out what is in the bill!"
Regards,
He’s been there for almost 20 years. It’s not supposed to be a career you bow-tie wearing jackass.
Oh, cry me a river!
If you had done your job and controlled government spending, inflation would not be out of control and your retirement income would be just fine.
Oh and by the way my retirement income would not be melting away as well.
You idiots should be in the same boat as the rest of us. There is absolutely no chance that my retirement income will be adjusted for inflation. Welcome to the club asshat!
What a jerk. He should try living on my retirement. I’d do the job for half that
These are YOUR elected representatives.
Think about the permanent deep-state apparatchiks, who have never been elected to anything, but are the ones who actually run the Federal Government.
Anthony Fauci was the highest paid Fed.gov employee. Made $$ millions in royalties and patents
James Comey was paid nearly $10 million a year working for Bridgewater Assoc, BEFORE he walked back into the FBI.
Rochelle Welensky, head of CDC during Covid, made $450K per year, plus perks like driver, PR staff, etc...
If we restored the ratio of congress to people at around 10k, it would truly be a representative government & no need to live in DC as things could be done electronically plus it would take donations out of the equation because there would be more representatives.
How about all the perks, don’t they get stipend for housing
I'm confident the Army Corps of Engineers could find the plans for some open bay barracks and be able erect accommodations for 535 government employees in the D.C. area in short order. Since they're all so broke they shouldn't need much more than a standard issue wall locker for all their personal effects.
ill bet his state even gives him a clothing allowance. IDK? if you feel underpaid, start putting in your resumes for a better job.
$174K isnt enough. These people are corrupt af.
Hookers cost money.
That is a good idea. A twelve story Congressional Hotel for members who live far away. Wouldn’t need to be for 535, since some are from local districts in Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Just plain Holiday Inn Express type rooms........................
Congressmen also get expenses, called MRAs. They average almost $2 million for each rep and senator.
Build a congressional barracks. You’d only live there three days a week.
Just form an investment club that does whatever Nancy Pelosi does. She never loses on an investment. The Nancy Pelosi Index Fund is the Congressional guide to wealth.
Hmmm. Where have I heard that before? 😊😂😊
