Controversy is again swirling around Capitol incursion figure Ray Epps as the Department of Justice calls for him to spend no more than six months in jail and face a $500 fine.
Epps was highly visible in multiple videos from the incursion and was seen urging people to go to the Capitol building.
Because he was not initially charged, speculation ran rampant that Epps was a federal agent whipping up and organizing protesters. He was eventually charged with one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct in September.
American Greatness reporter Julie Kelly noted in a post on X at the time that the charge was far milder than other charges against Jan. 6 defendants.
“This lame single charge tells us everything we need to know about Ray Epps. No obstruction felony? No civil disorder charge? Not even a trespassing on restricted grounds misdemeanor?” she wrote.
Similar thoughts erupted after the government’s sentencing memorandum was issued Tuesday.
In it, prosecutors described Epps’ case as “unique … in the context of January 6 defendants.”
“Although Epps engaged in felonious conduct during the riot on January 6, his case includes a variety of distinctive and compelling mitigating factors,” the memorandum said.

“variety of distinctive and compelling mitigating factors”
Lol.
I wonder what those might have been....
Epps is taking one for the team. Only a slap on the wrist, mind you. But authorities HAD to look like they were doing something.
Deducting the $500 fine from Fed Payroll check?
I’ll bet. Disclosure of his status as CIA or personally contracted by pelousey would undermine the entire derpstate narrative.
Very suspicious.
Out in 14 days. Or more likely, suspended sentence.
The Left claims that any “rioters” at left wing protests are RW plants. The Right claims that any rioters at right wing events are left wing agitators or FBI plants.
Why don’t we just shoot *ALL* rioters, then? I mean burning a cop car or climbing in a window, smashing a statue or crashing a gate, if they are really plants, or dupes, why not just waste them? If agents provocateurs are just capped on sight, wouldn’t everyone be happy?
“Offed” or “Suicided” in prison, Fed Med Examiner, private funeral, then...
Seven figure income as advisor to FBI, new name, 100 acre ranch somewhere no-one will care about. Maybe Epstein’s new neighbor.
This is only a sentencing recommendation.
Citizens can contact the judge and request that the sentence be longer that the prosecutor’s recommendation.
Man... That sure sounds like you are fishing for self incriminating statements from these folks here.
So he gets a few months in prison and a grandmother -with cancer-gets 9 months for WALMKING into the capital. Fair and equal. Not so much
How abt the men getting DECADES in prison for walking into the capital.
Maybe that airport in Minna Ark is available too??
While the people he shouted at to break through the barriers and get in there are still in prison 3 years later!! PATHETIC AS HELL!!
Huh?
I just find it funny that everyone always blames the feds, or the other side for rioters. Left and right.
I’d *love* to see those black-block twats that show up for everything around here get a whiff of ma deuce, and quite frankly, if someone is braking into *any* building, waste ‘em.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
is this how the outrage over hunter’s original plea bargain was scuttled?
There are a few federal penitentiaries, ones for convicted VIP’s, that are co-ed and like country clubs. Many years ago when I was in LE, I interviewed a prisoner, former bank president in a plush one in Lexington, KY.. I was ushered into a formal sitting room where he was sitting with a beautiful convicted socialite (I later learned). She quickly left.
Mitigating circumstance is he is associated with the Feds or Pelosi.
CIA employee badge.
Betcha those 6 months will get Differed at a future sentencing hearing put in by his attorney.
