Former President Trump on Wednesday demanded the Maine secretary of state recuse herself from her upcoming decision on the former president’s ballot eligibility under the 14th Amendment, citing her past statements about the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
Unlike other states, where plaintiffs have sued over Trump’s eligibility in court, Maine’s system first allows the secretary of state to weigh in. Challengers can then appeal in state court.
In response to three petitions challenging Trump’s ballot eligibility, Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows, a Democrat, is set to issue a decision in the coming days.

The “Defenders of Democracy” do not like free elections.
Democrats never recuse themselves.
Fight, GOP, damnit! Fight!
When is it an insurrection?
When the Democrats decide to block elections? Does the Federal Government have to declare an insurrection? Does an insurrection require an ‘armed’ resistance? Does a riot require free and fair review of all information, or can Democrats refuse to allow evidence? Can you convict someone of Insurrection without due process?
“show me the man and I’ll show you the crime”
Lavrentiy Beria.
The claim of Insurrection, and the demand that Trump not be on the ballot, smells like election interference.
I feel like everyone is missing the underlying motivation of these disqualifications.
Sure, they are directed against Trump. However, since these are generally states that Trump would never, ever, win in any event, one has to ask what is the point?
The short answer is that this is an assault on the electoral college. By artificially deflating (assuming any of these are successful) the popular vote for Trump, in the event he wins the electoral vote, it is just another avenue by which to attack the electoral college.
Leftie. Worked for the ACLU, strong abortion advocate, fought for gay marriage.
Did Trump appeal to SCOTUS on this issue yet?
“Demands” or “requests” or “asks for” or “petitions.” Which one of these makes Trump sound like an autocrat?
When the media says so.
The point is to establish a precedent, normalize the disqualification of opposition candidates (Trump), then pressure two or more of the contested States to follow along with the disqualification, making it numerically impossible for Trump to win the election.
The goal is to leave us with a "choice" of whatever far left candidates are approved by the Democrat Central Committee. That is what they mean by "Our Democracy"(tm).
It looks a lot like a fascist oligarchy to me.
Another Biden Democrat kiss-up——on her knees to SlowJoe.
FR Thread——Michigan Democrat Secy of State Benson:
says RNC Chair McDaniel Could Face Charges for Bribery
Michigan Democrat Secy of State Jocelyn Benson said
<><>b/c RNC chair Ronna McDaniel participated in a phone call w/ Trump
<><>she could be legally liable in the J6 events (which
Benson calls a “2024 conspiracy”.)
Benson added, “A coordinated effort in battleground states to “delay certification” on
J6 was all about a “false slate of electors” being presented to Congress on January 6th.
So what has Benson done about the 1//12/17 observer.com report
<><>that DNC consultants, sisters Alexandra and Andrea Chalupa, being paid to advance Biden
<><>concocted an outrageous elector scheme
<><>they advocated Trump’s state electors “duly elected to the US electoral college” defect from Trump.
So far, the Chalupas’ outrageous bias to get “electors to defect” was ignored. Yet Trump
and those around him have been lambasted for trying to expose the Biden Democrats’ “elector scheme.”
These DNC tactics are directly responsible for, and served as an
impetus, for people to gather at the Capitol J6 to protest certification.
She’s a cunning schemer.....trying to get on Biden’s A-list....
she knows Biden revels in J6 b/c it deflects from his election steal.
Particularly galling is Benson self servingly ignoring the DNC’s outrageous part in this, and her ignorantly saying,”there is no evidence that there was anything wrong,” as she condescendingly refers to “the tragedy of J6 and the events that unfolded that day.”
