From Zen Master: “This morning’s SCOTUS decision makes it plain that Trump’s trial won’t happen in March. It’s incontrovertible that the case SCOTUS will decide bears upon the obstruction charge against Trump (18 U.S.C. 1512(c)). SCOTUS likely won’t even decide this case until June. It would make no sense to try Trump before the resolution at SCOTUS. And that isn’t even getting into the presidential immunity issue. That March date, much to Smith’s chagrin, was never going to happen.
