My dogs are the early warning system, the shotgun is the secondary warning system, the AR is the “Final Solution”. I will use it. I have no hesitation.
Yes. A teeny tiny little yip dog who’s afraid of its own shadow is an excellent warning system. They’ll alert and bark at the first sign because they’re telling you to protect them. That’s just enough time to get the semi-auto, shotgun and/or AR/AK. I’d choose a shotgun if they’re not too far into the house where the carpet would get messed up with all the blood, myself.
I don’t move around my house without a firearm. My wife of 35 years, never says a word. She knows it is for our protection. Hell, even sitting in my sweatpants ready for bed, a handgun is at arms reach. Call me paranoid, I call it being prepared.
