Big G & S Fan here.

I had The Mikado, Iolanthe,Pirates of penzance, the Gondoliers, and HMS Pinafore Memorized by the sixth grade.

Saw Iolanthe on my tenth birthday, and went to a show every time the D’Oyly Carte came to Boston.

Sadly, the G & S fandom seems to be fading away. I hardly ever see productions anymore.

There are still a few G&S Society groups around.

I agree, though, rarely see many local productions, anymore.

I have seen them ALL in person ( my parents' troop AND the wonderful D'Oyly Carte Opera Company, in NYC ) many times over.

Had them ALL under by belt at age 4, except for PRINCESS IDA, which I finally did see when I was 11.

So happy to meet another fan!!!!!

I'm such a nutter, that we stay at The Savoy when we go to London and have seen quite a few plays at the Savoy Theatre.

I've been to Grim's Dyke ( Gilbert's last palatial home, which is now an hotel and where his operettas are still performed ), which is in Harrow .
