Burger King has closed six restaurants across America amid plans to shut some 400 stores this year and reinvest funds into modernizing the brand.

Closures are in Florida, Nebraska and New York.
I was sure they'd be in California b/c of new legislation mandating fast food workers be paid $20/hour.
I wonder if "modernizing" means automating...
Burger King is being busted down to Burger Baron.
Maybe if they’d clean up their restaurants and stop serving cold fries people would return...
So, how’s their grass clipping “burgers” selling?
6 BK’s shut down is news?. They probably opened 2 dozen Dollar Generals in north Carolina just yesterday. wheres the reporting on that?
BK has absolutely no care at any level about their brand or standards.
Toms king for example, now bankrupt, had hundreds of locations and was one of their biggest franchisees and every single one was run absolutely horribly.
If corporate had any care about quality or standards they would have been stripped of their franchisee license long long ago, but instead opened hundreds of stores… because BK corporate just doesn’t care.
The deviation between BK locations is insane. You get lucky enough to find a well run one, it can stand up to any competitor well. However the majority are run absolutely terribly
Personally, I think Burger King’s hamburgers are waaaaay better than McDonald’s*. But where McDonald’s marketing is aimed at making people feel good, Burger King’s seems to aim for making people feel like they trapped in the world of some European post-Realism literature.
(*Their chicken and snacks are better too, but I hafta admit McDonald’s fries are better.)
BK ain’t havin’ it “their way”.
Fast food costs too much and it tastes mostly bad.
I noticed just yesterday that the one in Rockland, MA is closed and boarded up. Rockland is not an affluent community, but it is a not what you would call a “high crime area” either. .
“So, how’s their grass clipping “burgers” selling?”
Grass clippings have nutritional value.
What was a good flame broiled burger is now boil-in-the-bag garbage.
Racist customers dont like it when the feral employees spit on their burgers.
I believe you, but I haven’t had that experience. Maybe it’s a regional thing. One thing I do notice: McDonald’s hires mostly Hispanics; Burger King hires mostly Blacks. Until coronavirus, it was extremely rare to find an English-fluent McDonald’s worker.
I agree. The burgers are way better. They should go the Chick-fil-a route. Simplify the menu, and emphasize service. Chick-fil-a is really good. Nothing spectacular. But the service sets them apart and they’re minting money.
If these fast food joints will serve a hot hamburger, I will go to them. Meanwhile, I’ll stick with Culver’s.
I have said for years that BK was worse than dog crap yet some people defend them. There must be a HUGE DIFFERENCE with those few good ones, because every one I’ve tried (I gave up eventually) in the past two decades literally made me feel sick.
Local Tom’s King franchise had a huge pothole in their parking lot for years. It finally got fixed recently.
Several restaurants in my area had to close because nobody wanted to work.
Yep, most Burger Kings are hellholes. Which is too bad since a Whopper is a great burger when made right. I’ve suspected for a while that there’s something seriously wrong with BK’s corporate culture.
They’ve gone woke. Boycott them.
Agree with you on the Burger King burgers—but there are none within twenty miles around here....the nearest one is in an area I don’t dare go to—even during the day.
