Propaganda works. And for the past few decades, the Left has owned the education system and pushed identity politics so successfully that a generation has turned against civilization itself.
The morality of an act depends upon who did it, not what was done.
How else can you explain the fact that a majority of Americans under 25 think that the attacks by Hamas on Israeli civilians were justified, even though a larger majority of them also believe that the attacks were done by terrorists who had genocidal intentions?
Yes, we have a pro-terrorist/pro-genocide contingent of young people in the United States. Decolonization, by any means necessary.
Hamas murdered 1200 civilians. Some were children, others were elderly. Some were burned alive. A few were decapitated. Many were killed in front of family members. Was this justified?
Yes, says the majority of American under the age of 25.

All I can say is “OK, Boomer,” and mean that in the most positive way possible.
I am not joking about the pro-terrorism youth contingent. They actually do exist and in not-insignificant numbers.

While 9% of Boomers think the attacks on Israel were justified, and Gen X was almost as appalled at the Baby Boomers, people under 45 are more split, and almost half of people under 35 are on Hamas’ side, including 51% of under-25s.
Compare that to the numbers for people who think the attacks were genocidal. Strong majorities of all age groups agree that the attacks were genocidal, suggesting that lots of people are A-OK with genocidal attacks against Israelis. I think you can attribute that to the steady stream of DEI/”anti-colonial” propaganda found in schools and universities, and its obvious effectiveness.

On the issue of free speech/cancel culture Americans come down firmly against punishing students for their attitudes. I can’t decide whether to be encouraged by this or not, given that Americans also believe that students are condoning terrorism. I personally wouldn’t hire anybody who supported terrorism, although I suspect that it would make quite a difference regarding what kind of job they were applying for.
The politics of a plumber or electrician matter less than those of a lawyer, doctor, or college professor. I would like to see a bit more depth on the question to decide how I feel about Americans’ attitudes. If the politics of the person are irrelevant to their job, I might actually agree with the majority here. If the person is going to be a teacher? Goodbye. Have fun stocking store shelves or something.

Younger people believe that there is a moral equivalency between Israel’s and Hamas’ causes, and on this point, there is no question that the US education system from K through college is to blame. One does not have to be indifferent to the plight of Palestinians to understand that there is no comparison between the two sides to blame for the situation.
A sea of people at Yale today; never seen a more diverse crowd so united for a cause. pic.twitter.com/iQ8sYbwgi9

Palestinians have had countless opportunities to resolve this situation with a two-state solution, and conditions in the Gaza Strip are entirely caused by Hamas’ insistence that war is the only answer. Billions have flowed into the Gaza Strip and have been wasted. The “government” even depends on Israel for its power and water–note how they complain that Israel quit providing them for a while.
Who depends on a mortal enemy for basic services? People who know they can depend on their enemy to be more civilized than they. It’s not like Hamas would do the same thing for Israel.
Hamas actually brags about destroying their own infrastructure in order to build weapons to be used on Israelis, and the only reason Israel is bombing Gaza right now is the war that Hamas started and continues to pursue. All this is Hamas’ fault, but our young people have no idea or simply don’t care because they think Israelis are “White settlers.”
This is Anna Epstein. Anna is a student at Boston University and is seen here ripping down posters of kidnapped and missing Israelis. While fellow Jews are being beheaded, raped, and kidnapped by Hamas, Anna believes this is merely propaganda.

Hamas could give up its hostages, and quit sending rockets into Israeli towns, and the humanitarian situation in Gaza would improve overnight. The Gaza Strip is a terrorist state and Hamas must be eradicated. Too many miseducated people think that it is Israel that must be eradicated, by any means necessary.
Blaming Israel for conditions in Gaza is equivalent to blaming the Allies in WWII for destruction in Germany. It is insane. Thank you DEI folks!
This is the result of a theory of education called "critical pedagogy" which says education should be political, and teachers should use the classroom to teach politics.
That's why these teachers don't know when America got its independance, but teach about protesting and BLM https://t.co/CcfEKhwjYj pic.twitter.com/w1d2AAsgve

All those protests on college campuses are capturing something real in the attitudes of young Americans, and say nothing good about our education system and academic institutions. The anti-Western propaganda, DEI, and “anticolonial” propaganda are clearly having an impact.
And not a good one.
Defund public education Now!
We have to burn the village to save it.
The Woke crowd talks like they care about the victims and the oppressed. But after the butchery committed by Hamas, the woke crowd sided with Hamas.
The woke crowd likes power. They have identified certain enemies and they want to use power to exterminate their enemies. The woke crowd has no interest in helping the oppressed in any real sense — they very much want to oppress the people who “deserve it”.
“The morality of an act depends upon who did it, not what was done.”
This is standard Marxist culture. Of course they were largely taught this in the public schools while their parents ignored what was taught because you know, free babysitting.
PS - there are no “good” public schools. They are all like this.
Is the education system even teaching about WWII and the Holocaust anymore?

“How else can you explain the fact that a majority of Americans under 25 think that the attacks by Hamas on Israeli civilians were justified, even though a larger majority of them also believe that the attacks were done by terrorists who had genocidal intentions?”
There is an alternate explanation: cowardice. People answering these polls may not actually believe such things, but they know they are supposed to say that they do, and they are afraid of the consequences of not saying that they do, so they just go along with it.
“the fact that a majority of Americans under 25 think that the attacks by Hamas on Israeli civilians were justified”
Source?
Its one poll by Harvard. Hardly a reliable source or sampling.
Yes-
Public education might not teach you math, how to write, or even read well, but you will be able to lecture others about Privilege, LGBTQIA+, climate change, patriarchy, racism, and the need for mandatory vaccines.
Colleges are heading that way.
A grad student with a business degree might not know the basics of accounting, how to write a contract, or what FLSA is, but they can tell you about a mediocre female artist from the renaissance, institutional discrimination and what equity, diversity, tolerance and inclusion are.
***Lot’s of social theory, little practical knowledge.***
Why?
Most of the under-25s are NOT in college! So one cannot blame university faculty for their horrible support of Hamas!
Blame the K-12 teachers’ unions!
Since a good number of Harvard faculty signed pro-israel petitions, the K-12 teachers’ unions may well be to blame even for the pro-Hamas marchers at Harvard and other universities!!!!
Actually, I look at these crazed people from BLM, ANTIFA,PRO-HAMAS. as being against anything mainstream/America which means they have no idea what they are doing. They seek sensationalism which is:
“the use of exciting or shocking stories or language at the expense of accuracy, in order to provoke public interest or excitement”
Did you not even bother to read the excerpt of the thread you are posting on?
Imagine marches and protests supporting the Japanese Rape of Nanking or the Nazis Kristallnacht.
You left out “settler colonialism”. That seems to be a favorite these days.
RE: Its one poll by Harvard. Hardly a reliable source or sampling.
So you’re saying that a different poll with different samples will give us opposite results?
Absolutely saddened that self-loathing creatures such as this are not given the spittle shower, dog-s-—t thunderstorms, and black and blue skin tones that they seem to be craving human beings to give them...
“So you’re saying that a different poll with different samples will give us opposite results?”
I’m saying a draft with no college deferment and shipping the little bastages to the tunnels of gaza and the trenches of Ukraine will ‘give us opposite results’.
They can pontificate and “narrate their spoken experiences” on issues much better when their asses are where their mouth are.
Make a list and send them to Gaza to fight for their cause against Israel and the USA
