In America, owning a gun is a constitutional right. Here in Israel, owning a gun is a privilege. We have no constitution here.

Just to be clear, in the United States, the right to keep and bear arms (not just guns) is an inalienable right.

The Second Amendment states that the government shall not infringe on that inalienable right.

Correct - it identifies what government cannot do; our rights do not come from the Constitution, but are already ours by virtue of existing.
