TV is saying a simple majority isn’t enough, two thirds or 21 votes would be needed for conviction, so these 14-16 votes aren’t as close as they look.

“Yay or nay”?!?
How about “yes or no” or “positive or negative” or “agree or disagree” or something that is easier to distinguish? Several senators have been asked to repeat their vote to be understood how they voted.

I just looked up my Representative Steve Toth, and he voted against impeachment.
Good.

I was a supporter of Ken Paxton in the past. When many Republicans in the house whom I thought were conservatives voted to impeach Ken Paxton, I did believe he had done wrong and was sad for this.
This Senate trial and acquittal has proved he has done no political nor legal wrong. He did wrong in his personal life and without doubt paid a high price. This wrong had no reflection on his professional duties as Attorney General.
I will vote for Ken Paxton again without any reservation. However my question is what the hell happened in the Texas House of representatives that made this impeachment happen, without valid evidence. My representative voted for this impeachment. I in the next election will vote for his adversary in the primary.
There is much to be learned behind this impeachment that we do not know nor I know. I smell Bush.

Every Texan needs to listen to what he said and how he said it.
This might be the most important speech made by a lieutenant governor in Texas history.
