Called this more than a year ago here:

Redistricting 2022: Winners and Losers (scroll down to Florida)

And reminded people what happened less than a decade ago when Democrats sued in Florida -- and of course won. The FL Supreme Court does in fact have several new DeSantis-appointed members since it caved to the Rats in 2015, but we shall see (hopefully) if the Court has been sufficiently "remade" or not. Even in 2015 it was 100% Republican -- but majority liberal.

As to post 21, regarding possible GOP lawsuits elsewhere:

New York and the Republicans won, here in Florida this ruling could be overturned because DeSantis has remade the Florida Supreme Court into a solid conservative majority which will have a say on this matter

A Republican judge DID get the ridiculous Democrat gerrymander in New York overturned back in 2022, which aided them greatly in their series of fluke wins, but that's ancient history.

Now the Democrats have sued in New York, and WON. Santos was already toast no matter what, and now probably 3 or 4 (if not more) of his GOP colleagues will be ousted too in 2024.

As to post 13 with all the pretty maps, the most important one is totally wrong. Al Lawson's district no longer exists as shown, and neither does Al Lawson (who is no longer employed), though he may still be the poster boy for this suit.

As I also pointed out over a year ago, this crap isn't really about protecting "minorities" despite all the Democrat whining, and a nice example can be found in New Mexico. That is where the Democrats obliterated a "minority" district -- without a peep -- since that minority was a REPUBLICAN.

When it comes to Democrats, there is no easy day, its political warfare, 24/7/365 on all fronts.

You mentioned in New Mexico the Democrats eliminated a Republican Minority district, did the Republicans sue over that and if not, why not, could the reason be Republican took the loss and went home to cry.

I feel good about the Florida, they have upheld a couple of DeSantis actions recently, we’ll see but I have hope in that case.
