Anyone familiar with the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) shouldn’t be surprised at their recent segment attacking Health Care Sharing Ministries (HCSMs). The taxpayer-supported PBS network pushes leftwing themes relentlessly.
In this case, they manipulated data and facts to paint a false picture of Health Care Sharing Ministries that fits their ideology.
Let's set the record straight:

As a former member of a Health Care Sharing Ministry, I can say that they are far MORE careful and professional than most insurance companies. In particular, they take painstaking care that you know that THEY ARE NOT PROVIDING INSURANCE. So there are no viable expectations held by the members.
That said, many serious, high-dollar procedures are covered COMPLETELY. Members are vetted to make sure that they are committed Christians, involved with a legitimate church body, and have a pastor. Churches are a failsafe for financial help if the ministry falls short. Committed Christians don't need the medical mitigation of high-risk lifestyles like the general population do.
All the opportunities over the years for the Republicans to defund NPR/PBS. What a worthless spineless bunch.

It’s long past time for the Public Broadcasting Service to respect the choices of the public it serves and leave the snobbery and liberal bias to CNN, MSNBC, NBC, ABC, and CBS — the market is saturated enough without taxpayer-subsidized wannabes. Nah. It’s long past time to de-fund PBS.
I have not listened to NPR in years. Not since they did a biased news post on the hour. And that was years ago.
The news said this “A unarmed Palestinian boy was killed on the West bank today and Three Jewish settlers were killed also.”.
It pissed me off that it implied that the Boy was a innocent and the settlers were there to take things and were not innocent. Just the whole thing just really grated on me.
My wife asked why I was pissed about it. She did not even get how it was biased. After I explained it to her she did. But the fact that I am paying taxes for a bigoted public radio program just irritates the hell out of me. Especially when most people never even know that they are being indoctrinated.
Why does anyone care if the media complains? It’s a little group that has insurance. Big deal. As long as they like it, that’s all that matters. Let the media complain.
Can you give us a clue?
Is the reason Capitalism? Big Pharma? The AMA?
It is not the job of “the media” to tell people about Health Sharing Ministries. And we were in one for over 20 years.
