Wonder if the UAW was involved in this?
Fine example of how government central planning causes economic dysfunction.
SOMEBODY got rich thanks to my “contributions” AGAIN!
I’d sure like to find and support people who can claw back our “investment” from all these grifters.
FYI...E-cars use fewer parts, meaning manufacturing of car parts...if this trend continued, would lead to fewer jobs (fewer union jobs).
I noticed this comment made four years ago with the German Audi folks. They were figuring 30-to-40 percent fewer car jobs (assembling and parts production) in the end.
Remember Solyndra owned by an Obama campaign bundler ( billionaire George Kaiser could have used his own money ) went under with $540 Million in taxpayer loan guarantees..
Millions...?
Snort. That’s peanuts. From a day ago...
That’s $9.2 BILLION.
Solyndra was the first thing that came to mind. These scoundrels have a formula for converting hundreds of millions of our dollars into seaside mansions for themselves.
A deep dive into LMC might reveal where some of the money went.
I would suggest a mass gallows, beginning at noon today, and running 24/7 for a month, for a start.
Unfortunately PDJT was a big fan of Lordstown Motors/electric trucks:

(He needs to get off the “food as fuel”/ethanol bandwagon too)
Ford lays off 1,000 employees because of EV manufacturing losses = $34,000 on each Ford EV .. Ford has expects to lose $3 billion.
Electric vehicles put a massive stress on roads.. The batteries are heavy with many models weighing more than two tons..
EVs are not currently charged a fuel duty to maintain the roads and bridges on the electricity used to recharge them..

Just like Solindra under Obama. Hmmmmmmmm…………..
I met a guy who worked at Lordstown, about 40 or so years ago and I seem to remember Lordstown (GM) has a history of employee purchase to keep jobs.
I vaguely remember Lordstown was (at the time) into electric harnesses.
This is a memory many years old so I could be 100% MISTAKEN.
What’s the old adage?
If the government was in charge of sand, it would be rationed in the Sahara.
It wasn’t us taxpayers who shelled out the money to finance this latest globalist night dream.
It was the politicians and bureaucrats of the Idiocracy who shelled out the tax money.
That tax money was extorted from us under threats of punishment up to and including long prison sentences.
Solyndra is evidently the blueprint for the massive fleecing of the American taxpayers. Money laundering for the corrupt and connected.
Did f j brandon say this deal was a big fing deal too ‘ mmm

@SullyCNBC
Ford laying off ‘at least’ 1,000 salaried and contract workers.
It will lose $3 billion making EVs this year.
Ford is now likely losing more than $30,000 on every electric it sells.
Last week the federal government (i.e. you) loaned Ford and a South Korean company $9.2 billion to build battery factories in the south, on top of federal tax credits to entice buyers.
The next few years should be interesting for Detroit (and taxpayers)
Let’s see if its .. sustainable.

Speaking of Solyndra... whatever happened to the financial records that the FBI scooped up the next day after they filed bankruptcy?
More EVs and an electrical grid that is already at or near capacity. No way we can generate enough electricity to power a country where 50% of new cars sold are EVs by 2030. Insane zealots.
The electric harnesses were “Packard Electric” owned by GM then under Delphi brand. Lordstown has ALWAYS had union “issues.”
Something ironic, Lordstown was the ONLY plant that produced the Chevy Cruze. Quietly, GM started moving production to Mexico. THEN to spit in the eyes of the union, Mecican produced Cruzes could be found on a car dealer’s lot very close to the Lordstown plant. The Union didn’t see this coming until it was too late. I remember taking a plant tour not long after it first opened. They made the Vega back then. Damn, I’m getting old!!
