Supreme Court rules against Republicans in North Carolina elections dispute

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Tuesday declined to impose new limits on state courts reviewing certain election-related issues by ruling against Republicans in North Carolina fighting for a congressional district map that would heavily favor their candidates.

The justices ruled on a 6-3 vote that the North Carolina Supreme Court was acting within its authority in concluding that the map constituted a partisan gerrymander under the state constitution.

In doing so, the court declined to embrace a hitherto obscure legal argument called the “independent state legislature” theory, which Republicans say limits state court authority to strike down certain election laws enacted by state legislatures.

* and Kavanaugh.

The basics of the case is that state courts can overrule legislature when it comes to redistricting.

Elections have consequences. Legislators make up the laws and that is now deemed Constitutional.

The question is moot here in NC now.

We kicked the Democrat majority on the Supreme Court to the curb last November.

Moot there - but gives Wisconsin court to do as they see fit.

“[It] would have affected not only redistricting disputes, but also other election-related rules about issues like mail-in voting and voter access to the polls that legislatures might seek to enact even when state courts have held that those rules violate state constitutions. The theory could also bring into question the power of governors to veto legislation.”

It sounds like the Legislature didn't go far enough in writing the laws that the court must follow.

Of course, they did.

If you want to see the perfect example of this, check out “Queen” Sheila Jackson Lee’s district map. It used to be a horseshoe which was bad enough but now it’s a spazzed out donut.

And yesterday the Supreme idiots rules the opposite. That Louisiana MUST conduct a partisan gerrymander. Roberts going to run off to Malta again, where he and Hunter do their banking?

Easy fix. Amend the state’s constitution limiting or eliminating SCOTUS authority in regards to redistributing.

Yeah... but Amy Conehead Barrett is a female! And look, she didn’t even write anything on her notepad! I remember the clamor here for her.
And also for rape boy Kavenaugh. Our side stood up and fought relentlessly for both of them. We were rewarded by Conehead-Barrett (*never trust a dash woman) refusing to do her duty the week before the 2020 election by enforcing the law. She said she was too new.

GOP bringing up issues before the judge is akin to My Cousin Bringing up an objection: “cogent argument, overruled”.

“Barrett and Kavanaugh are-—disappointments”

Both are bushites and the GOPe are very happy with the two. There was a reason why Bush Jr. worked the phones ginning up support for Kavanaugh in the Senate.
