Good question.
There have been a number of comments here on Free Republic, by people saying that while they like Trump, they are supporting DeSantis because he would have a better chance of winning the general election.
Yep, and most polls show even match with both Trump and DeSantis beating Biden. It’s a marathon to the first primaries and the election, so lots of time for things to resolve themselves. DeSantis is just getting himself introduced, Trump is dealing with his baggage and behavior. Should be interesting.
If Trump isn’t the nominee, which only would happen if he died, then the DNCMedia would attack DeSantis with as much vigor and hatred as they’ve done Trump.
Don’t say gay, banning books, picking fights with a Children’s fantasy company over homophobia, etc, etc, would be what they all would tell us nonstop.
They will never question Biden and his corruption, senility and lack of vigor. Only Trump can do so and force people to listen because the DNCMedia has to cover Trump, they can’t help themselves.
Face it, there is no GOP hope except for Trump. If he can’t beat Biden next year, no Republican can.
I say that. All that matters who can get swing voters in 5 swing states (democrat ballot harvesting aside). I love Trump. But Desantis has a better chance in those 5 states. No one who didn’t vote for Trump will turn around and vote Trump in 2024. DeSantis runs Florida like a well oiled machine and he turned Florida from a swing state to a free state.
