We had the advantage of having the entire Atlantic Ocean between us and the British homeland.
Defeated Russian invaders have the enviable position of being able to always scurry back to their hinterland to lick their wounds because the Ukrainians "aren't allowed" to pursue them.
Retreating Russian invaders shouldn't be given the privilege of always having a "safe harbor" to which they can (temporarily) flee and where they are "immune" to reprisal.

good points
You should try living in the real world. In the real world, there are no retreating Russian invaders, only victorious Russian servicemen and a successful Russian rescue mission and large numbers of people saved from the stinking nazi regime in Kiev.
