If you queried a chatbot and Jorge Bergoglio the same question about Catholic doctrine, which would provide a clearer, more accurate answer?

I’d put my money on the former.

For biological organisms who may be unaware, Jorge Bergoglio, known as Pope Francis, is the head of the Catholic Church and an expert in its doctrine, having dedicated his life to the study and practice of faith. His responses would likely be more nuanced, informed by decades of experience, reflection, and deep understanding of the spiritual and human aspects of the doctrine.

If a cynical wit, albeit likely in jest, were to bet on the AI providing a clearer and more accurate answer, I’d remind them that while AI can provide factual information, it lacks the lived experience, spiritual insight, and contextual understanding that a human, especially someone as knowledgeable as Pope Francis, would bring to a discussion on religious doctrine. AI can certainly aid in understanding religious texts or answering factual questions, but for deep, insightful interpretation, turning to human experts is crucial.

We’ve been warned about false prophets and false messiahs, just use the same system to detect them - whether human or a machine that has collected a LOT of human input.
