How about we just move every drug on the Schedule down a notch? Schedule 1 drugs (which are technically not drugs as Schedule 1 is reserved for substances which have “no known medical purpose”) become Schedule 2. Schedule 2 drugs become Schedule 3 and so on. Marijuana is a Schedule 1 drug but it is legal in dozens of states. Cocaine is not legal in any state but is a Schedule 2 drug because it did (and does, sort of) have specific medical uses. Fentanyl, from reputable manufacturers, is also a schedule 2 drug.

One hundred and thirty-two Democrats were joined by Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., in voting against the bill while 13 lawmakers did not vote.

If it’s bad for you they are for it.

Yes, because they spend a fortune on social programs like drug counseling, courts, homeless shelters, food banks, public education etc and get a lot of voting blocks out of that spending. So they tend to favor horrible policies that make things worse in order to justify demands for more votes spending in block grants to their constituencies.

Since Schedule 1 drugs have no medical use, does this mean that it will now be illegal for anesthesiologists to use it? Will it be illegal for cancer patients to get fentanyl patches to ease their pain in their last days? And more importantly, will this stop even one microgram from being shipped from China, through Mexico and into the States?

I am not worried about fentanyl from the hospital or pharmacy. I am worried about it from Jose selling it or other drugs with it mixed in out of his trunk.

They all voted against Cruz amendment after Uvalde.

It would have put a police officer in every school parking lot.
Had a threat assessment done at every school to advise what was needed to make it safer.
Put a therapist/ resource officer in every school.

I don’t recall the cost. Tens of billions. And not one Democrat voted for it.

My last voluntary colonoscopy included fentanyl ahead of the procedure. Total lights out. The night before, the "prep" included something called Amitiza. Unfortunately, I'm part of the under 1% of the population that dumps fluid into my lungs in addition to the intended intestinal space. I spent 8 hours coughing salty fluid out of my lungs to avoid drowning. Not a very good experience.

The next colonoscopy wasn't an option. A polyp had been clipped over an artery in my colon. The scab ripped the artery open a week after the procedure. I spent all night sipping "golytely" and hoping I could clear my gut before it was necessary to hang a transfusion. After 8 hours, it was clear enough to proceed to shutdown the bleeder. My BP was down to 81/43 when I headed to OR. Normal for me is 105/53.

I've decided the risks outweigh the benefits. There won't be another voluntary colonoscopy.

Maybe we should consult the Constitution as to if there is any authority for the government to regulate what people put in their body.

Call it the “George floyd act” in his memory and maybe Dems could vote for it.
