Ancestry as proxy for race. That's exactly what this is and everybody including these grifters knows that. I don't even think that this will pass in Sacramento, even with a Democratic supermajority. This is a great way for Dimms to lose Hispanic and Asian voters, not to mention whites.

I'd love for these fools to try to pass this as a ballot measure though.

...residents between 1933 and 1977...

Who knew Commiefornia didn't abolish slavery until 1977?

If Kali was never a slave state, his can they possibly owe slavery reparations? (not that Confederate states do either, of course)

The idea behind ‘reparations’ is an attempt to swing the murder demographics solidly into the ‘white-on-black’ category, because that’s precisely the affect it will have.

If being in America is so terrible they can take the reparations only after they renounce their citizenship and are exiled out of America forever

The Libs are counting on this being struck down and then will demonize the Conservative courts for it. I’m certain that was the game plan all along.

The worst thing the Conservative court could do is approve it and up the ante to $10M per person. But then CA would scream for a bailout.

“”I’d love for these fools to try to pass this as a ballot measure though.””

Good idea - that’s what needs to happen. Participated in a lot of CA elections with propositions on ballots that were defeated by the voters BUT in today’s CA - a big question especially if they allow those not eligible to vote to have a say!! CA really needs cleaning up desperately but we moved 3000 miles away so others will have to clean up their act now and I sincerely wish them GOOD LUCK - the state WAS too great to destroy!!!

The only acceptable ‘reparations’ is one-way coach airfare back to Africa with a snack and an Adam Sandler movie.

Bull S^^T! Blacks were not the only ones enslaved in the US.
Read some REAL history for a change. There were thousands of indentured servants sent to the colonies and this continued throughout the time up to the civil war, all were white.

These people were effectively slaves and owned by another person. Their indenture could be sold to another person at any time, and many were owned by black people. (Read some real history!)

There are many recorded cases were an owner “misplaced” the indenture paperwork. When that happened that indentured servant was a slave for the rest of their lives.

Definitely illegal, wrong and unconstitutional.
It has the goal of totally destroying this country for all time. There will be NO recovery from reparations.
Do not think these people are just kidding. They are serious. They think they can make the country communist by taking money from those who earn it and by giving it to those who refuse to earn it and are responsible for their own failures.

The recipients will NEVER agree to an end of it. It will be in perpetuity. Do you think that little babies born after the passage of the law will NOT get their 10 million?

If enacted, it will be permanent. Think of how many hours you will have to work to pay for this. How long will 7/8 of the population have to work to fund the 10 million given to each of the 1/8 that isn’t working? Little math problem that I can’t do. My estimate is that the 7/8 will be forced to work 3 jobs just in order to live in poverty in order to earn enough to pay their share of the 1/8 of the 10 million. Actually, it looks like it can’t be done. There is no way that anyone can work enough hours to earn enough money to pay a million in taxes. Can’t happen. Will not happen. So the money will simply be created by the government, leading to runaway inflation and the collapse of the economy.

A thought experiment. Do you think that ANY of the recipients of the 10 million is ever going to lift a finger to WORK? (I know they hate the word “work” - with reparations they’ll never work again).

Another thought. Why on earth would any of the normal people ever work again? ALL your earnings will be taken in taxes to pay the happy recipients, who will continue to assault you in the subway, steal your cars, rape the women, loot stores, and will go right on merrily hating you and giving you the finger?

lose Hispanic and Asian voters

I don't think so. The anti-White solidarity among POC and young people of every stripe is strong. It is tightly woven into the fabric of the entire culture.

Hey, it’s good that the Government of California has come out claiming they have been systemically racist now all that is left for them to come out and admit they have been systemically stupid since 1933.

It would make much more sense for some sort of reparations for the Chinese, Japanese, Philippino and other Asian peoples for the treatment received in California through various racist laws enacted both locally and statewide. For example, after the 1906 earthquake in SF, Japanses school children were not permitted to attend schools with white children despite their ghetto schools having burned down post quake. The SF Chronicle and Examiner battled each other with front page stories of the odious and foul nature of the Japanese people living in California...

As for the Chinese and the building of the transcontinental railroad...that is another story.

Despite California’s obivous racist laws, those populations continued to survive until we have today where once again they are cast aside for the crime of actually achieving something with their lives.

I bet it survives all votes/court cases.

No one will want to be the one that voted against it.

already defaulted California can’t afford to do this anyways.

According to the article this is a pile of pomp and circumstance and won’t make it. Too many hurdles.

Probably a good reason for riots if the court)s) have enough real balls to throw this whole pile of toilet paper out the courthouse doors.

you think the BLM riots were bad so far? wait until the gimme-crowd realizes this was all for show, and they aren’t each getting $20M dollars.

No way Cali has enough gelt to pay for all this. So I predict that if and when the Dims take back both Houses of Congress, a law will be passed that the other 49 states will have to chip in for the balance of what is owed these poor “descendants of slaves”.
