Darlin', I was here on FR a year before you were, and yeah, we got burned. When I think of how much my family and I labored to get him elected, along with many other good, honest, dedicated people, not just once but twice, and to see how badly our loyalty and labors were betrayed and squandered, we were justifiably pissed.

Regardless, surrender is never an option.

What do I expect from conservatives? The ability to reason. The ability to ignore all the disinformation, all the fury and emotion, and be able to think objectively.

That includes not participating in the daily circular firing-squad with suicidal glee.

And we might still get screwed again. With Trump.With DeSantis, With [insert_politicians_name_here]. All we can do is our best. And right now, based on the continual, stupid infighting, our best is lacking.

So ditching Trump for DeSantis (the guy who just signed a hate speech law) isn't surrendering? People here, including myself, have/had high hopes for DeSantis. But in recent months, his actions have been disappointing. Pointing out those dissapointments isn't irrational.
