Illinois Assault Weapons Ban Update [Today] : US District Court Stops Ban From Going Into Effect, Smacks Down Fatboy Prickster & Smarmy Raoul In Epic Ruling
US District Court For The Southern District of Illinois ^ | 4/28/2023 | USConservative

Winning!

Injunction against Illinois' Un-Constitutional "Assault Weapons Ban" has been granted by the US District Court! They cite the clear violation of the Second Amendment which includles the indivual right to bear arms (in common use) and US Supreme Court Precedent.

Clearly the court recognized that Illinois' "Assault Weapons Ban" was written in defiance of the US Constitution and legal precedent.

At this point, JB PRICKSTER and KWAME RAOUL are all but guaranteed to lose if they appeal to the IL Supreme Court, who'll simply uphold the Appellate Court's finding.

Fatboy PRICKSTER and RAOUL wouldn't stand an ice cubes chance in hell of winning, in front of the USSC if they're dumb enough to try and go that far.

In summary: UP YOURS FATBOY PRICKSTER and KWAME RAOUL!!

The best part of the smackdown that the US District Court gave to Prickster and Smarmy Raoul starts on p. 3:

”The Supreme Court in Bruen and Heller held that citizens have a constitutional right to own and possess firearms and may use them for self-defense. PICA seems to be written in spite of the clear directives in Bruen and Heller, not in conformity with them. Whether well intentioned, brilliant, or arrogant, no state may enact a law that denies its citizens rights that the Constitution guarantees them. Even legislation that may enjoy the support of a majority of its citizens must fail if it violates the constitutional rights of fellow citizens. For the reasons fully set out below, the overly broad reach of PICA commands that the injunctive relief requested by Plaintiffs be granted."

Everything after p. 3 is a complete smackdown by the Judge, telling Fatboy Prickster and Smarmy Raoul exactly why they failed.

For the pure entertainment value, the entire ruling, all 29 pages were well worth the read!

Any historical referencing or is it just quoting previous judicial decisions?

(yes, I'm being lazy, long day today...if you don't mind)

Funny, my copy of the Constitution mentions nothing about “in common use.”

There's already talk in a few of the circles I belong in, that once this is done in the courts, the lawsuits are going to start flying against Pritzker and Raoul, agitating for Constitutional Carry here in IL and reciprocity.

Won't that be awesome!!!

Seriously, he’s gotten MUCH larger since taking office. Just hand him a ham sammich when he’s on TV whining about the judge in the case, guns, and watch him explode.
