According to excerpts of prepared remarks provided to Breitbart News by Trump’s team, Trump spoke at the NRA Annual Meeting leadership forum, where he told attendees, “I will also create a new tax credit to reimburse any teacher for the full cost of a concealed-carry firearm and training from highly qualified experts.”

He added, “If even 5 percent of teachers were voluntarily armed and trained to stop active shooters, we would achieve effective deterrence and the problem would cease to exist.”
Trump also pledged to secure national reciprocity for concealed carry during a second term. “I will ask Congress to send a bill to my desk delivering National Concealed Carry Reciprocity. Just like your driver’s license and marriage license, your Second Amendment must apply across state lines,” he said.
On September 18, 2015, Breitbart News reported that Trump stressed his support for national reciprocity going into the 2016 president campaign.

He did so via a policy paper on Second Amendment rights, saying:
The right of self-defense doesn’t stop at the end of your driveway. That’s why I have a concealed carry permit and why tens of millions of Americans do too. That permit should be valid in all 50 states. A driver’s license works in every state, so it’s common sense that a concealed carry permit should work in every state. If we can do that for driving — which is a privilege, not a right — then surely we can do that for concealed carry, which is a right, not a privilege.
How about just eliminate the Dept. of Education instead?
Yes but the teachers should still be armed mass murders happen gun free zones first.
As I wrote earlier, who gets to pick the teachers that'll pack heat?
Will it be some school board-designated committee (because we know how they LOVE justice)?
Will it be union goons?
Maybe it'll be the librarian who just added a bunch of Antifa books to the catalog.
Maybe it'll be this Fearless Lady.
Or that collection of sex ed specialists pushing the latest claptrap on children.
It sure won't be the parents, who are "domestic terrorists" in the eyes of the DOJ.
I'll go a few steps further....let's say some leftist agitator-teacher who did 4 years in the Army's is deemed "competent." He sees a bunch of conservative students and monitors their online activity, decides they're a threat because they wrote "Let's Go Brandon" and FJB and posted pictures of them at gun shows on Instagram, and draws his weapon on them in class and calls the cops.
He will argue (and, I submit to you, be supported in the press and by the school board vociferously) that he stopped a possible disaster. The parents of these students will sue, the NEA will protect the teacher at all costs, the parents will spend thousands on legal fees and their kids will be doxxed and have a hard time getting in to college or trade school.
The teacher will keep his job and become a celebrity for 20% of this nation, and be loathed by 30-40% of the Deplorables. The remainder/ballast will waffle. Meanwhile, another school shooting will happen because that's part of the systematic risk in a free nation.
In contemporary America, this is a nice idea on paper. In practice it'll fail, because the local government and DOJ will make the call on "competency." And then this guy will carry...
Viable options include Homeschooling and private schools. But as long as in loco parentis reigns supreme, this is a futile situation.
Gotta save money somewhere that’s for sure.
The feds need to get out of education in the long run but need to intervene to drive the wokeness out of them in the process.
Using the power of big government to solve the problems caused by big government is an exercise in futility and will ultimately fix nothing.
Remove controls on local governments, school boards, and parents rights over them - and every school district will find an acceptable solution to their own specific problems.
The man is a brilliant leader and visionary.
How about you read this?
BTW, not sure why you don’t want armed teachers.
Feds are driving the perversion INTO the process. A few of the STATES are fighting it.
End the Department of Education.
The tax credit is a good idea, though. Make sure it applies to ALL teachers, not just government school NEA drones.
Because 99% of American schools do not need armed teachers, nor should it be anywhere within Fed.gov's right or power to declare they do, or do not.
Not sure about your 99% number, but nowhere does it say that Trump would force local schools to allow armed teachers.
Federal intervention across the 50 states will get the Blue ones behind state control of education again in a jiffy.
We will get Democrat votes in Congress to end federal involvement in education.
You have to use reverse psychology.
I figure the next POTUS needs to put FBI, DOJ, Homeland Security People on the “no fly list” special list for airline travel along with Leftists at the Southern Poverty Law Center and so on.
That will drive the Left to abandon it.
Using the power of big government to solve the problems.
Easing ammo restricted sales is one major step after that everything takes care if it self limiting other restrictions.
Wrong answer. Fedzilla needs to be reduced to its constitutional size, scope, and power ... whole departments need to be eliminated. Department of Education is one of them.\
The M1 Carbine (M2?) is a good choice, there.
I would not trust them with guns around children.
Everyone says it...except Dems...but so far it hasn’t come up for a vote...or as an issue.
