Standing for the Second Amendment and the hardening of schools, including arming teachers, former President Donald Trump gave his forceful answer to Democrats' frequent calls for gun control after mass shootings.
"This is not a gun problem," Trump told the National Rifle Association annual convention in a speech that aired live on Newsmax. "This is a mental health problem. This is a social problem. This is a cultural problem. This is a spiritual problem.
"Each and every one of these heinous attacks depend on the same cold-blooded calculation that the evil monster will have a window of time to act out their demonic fantasy unchallenged. They want to be unchallenged. They don't want challenge.
"The only way to stop these wicked acts is to ensure that any sicko who would shoot up a school knows that within seconds, not minutes, they will face certain death. They have to know that, and they won't be doing it."
Trump's speech was not just about being "a loyal friend" and a "fearless champion" for gun owners and public safety. He also called for funding police, armed guards, and training and arming teachers.
"For this reason, I will ask Congress to repeal totally ineffective legislation that makes it harder to protect our schools and easier for criminals to face absolutely no opposition when they go in," Trump continued. "I will also create a new tax credit to reimburse any teacher for the full cost of a concealed carry firearm and training from highly qualified experts – who's better?
"If even 5% of teachers — people that are skilled with arms, we want that — 5% were voluntarily armed and trained to stop active shooters, we would achieve effective deterrence and the problem would cease to exist, and that would be a lot of people."

So much crime is prevented with the thought, “They might have a gun in the house.” I live in a nice neighborhood and on occasion there are shadowy looking figures at night looking in car windows or looking at boats. If they thought, “They don’t have a gun in the house,” imagine what they might do.
When Australia did their gun grab immediately there was a spike in home invasions.
When you rule a country where the people and their children have no morals or ethics to set their behavior and conduct, the “government” must come up with excuses to disarm them.

Drug companies donate a lot more to politicians than the NRA. So really how do you stop the over medication of kids ? (I’m sure some actually need meds but not that many).

As a side note to this thread, please consider the following.
I'll go a step further than Trump regarding guns and point the finger at activist, anti-parental authority indoctrination in public and private schools.
In fact, Mark 7:11-13 shows us that Jesus reprimanded the Pharisees for driving a wedge between parents and their children (my words), effectively wrongly nullifying the "Honor your mother and father" commandment by doing so.
So good parents are protected under 1st Amendment protection of religious expression imo.
But Ephesians 6:4 also shows us that the Holy Spirit led Paul to warn fathers not to exasperate their children.
Sadly, we cannot overlook that some “parents” are a serious threat to their children.
I heard the Republicans in Congress read Trump’s statement on the floor, and they followed by giving Trump a standing ovation for stating the truth.

Today the CRIMINAL gets his felonies plea bargained down to misdemeanors and can still LEGALLY buy guns.
The CARELESS still injure themselves and others because gun safety classes have been removed from schools.
The INSANE and mentally ill, today who would have been locked up in the 1950s, are TODAY declared SANE, released on the streets and can now legally buy guns to shoot up schools and churches.
Most of the mass shooters in the last forty years would have been in an insane asylum if the hospitals had not been shut down in the 1970s. It was the brainchild of California Gov Edmund Brown in the 1960s..
