A Florida bill targeting drag shows is on its way to becoming law.
The Senate passed the bill Tuesday in a 28-12 vote.
The bill prohibits children from being admitted to “adult live performances.” Opponents worry the bill could put pride parades at risk. An amendment filed last week bans cities from issuing permits for events that expose children to “adult entertainment,” which is defined as a performance that includes nudity, sexual conduct or lewd exposure.

Those parades should've been shut down three decades ago. Nothing but public sex exhibitions for malignant narcissists. I remember a local radio talk show host who was pro-Sodomite rights was invited to one of those "pride" parades. He saw it and came back and apologized to his listeners who were anti-Sodomite and said it was the most disgusting spectacle he'd ever seen in his life.

I had the misfortune of staying in a place downtown when one of those went by. There was a truck full of gay men wearing nothing but g-strings shaking their asses over the side of the truck, right in front of children.

Why is it necessary now for new legislation to specifically address drag queen performances?
They’ve been around forever, and while they are strange, nobody cared till it was targeted towards suggestible youth. That of course is the real issue.
It’s difficult to believe Florida (or any other state) allows children to attend lewd performances.
In other words, why aren’t they making arrests under the current laws, that have probably been on the books since 1817 or whatever?
Some judge will just declare it illegal.
Indecency with a minor. Lock ‘em up.
And if someone doesn’t believe it, send them to zombietime to look at the documentation of San Francisco’s freaks.
In particular, the Folsom street fair.
Butt pirates are also concerned that the bill will also ban all fruit displays.
