I well recognize that.

However to criticize police for not being able to respond instantly when it is literally physically impossible to do so, is no answer. There is enough to criticize LE over these days without criticizing them for not being able to violate the laws of physics.

Under our system of government, the police are not tasked with protecting the citizenry. They’re not armed security officers.

The job of the police is to protect accused criminals — by taking them into custody and ensuring that they are subject to proper trials under the law.

This country was founded by men who didn’t need police to protect them … but recognized that having accused criminals tried by a jury was preferable to hunting them down and killing them with no due process.
