Black Lives Matter Activists Executed A Shocking $83 Billion Shakedown Of American Corporations
The Federalist ^ | MARCH 24, 2023 | CLAREMONT INSTITUTE CENTER FOR THE AMERICAN WAY OF LIFE

The Black Lives Matter (BLM) riots of 2020 were the largest and most successful shakedown in American history. These “mostly peaceful protests” — which burned more than 200 American cities and wreaked more than $2 billion in damages — achieved more than anyone could have predicted: changes in laws, private sector policies, and perhaps most importantly, a historic transfer of wealth to racial and leftwing causes. As a result, American corporations gave or pledged more than $83 billion to either BLM or BLM-related causes.

We created a database tracking contributions and pledges made to the BLM movement and related causes, which we define as organizations and initiatives that advance one or more aspects of BLM’s agenda, and which were made in the wake of the BLM riots of 2020. To date, our data spans more than 400 companies and $83 billion in pledges and contributions.

The famed consulting firm McKinsey and Company thinks the number is far larger. They calculated that from May 2020 to October 2022 companies pledged about $340 billion “to racial equity, specifically for Black Americans after the murder of George Floyd in May 2020.” Our number is conservative by comparison. But unlike McKinsey, we provide details about the pledges and contributions of specific companies.

We are surprised at some of the incredulity in our calculations. So too is BLM, which suggests that objections to wealth transfers of this scale are rooted in “white supremacy,” and “a pathology that Black organizations don’t deserve to be funded.”

The founders of Black Lives Matter, Patrisse Cullors, Alicia Garza, and Opal Timeti (sp?), are all self described self proclaimed Marxists.

Interesting how good Marxists sure love the bounty provided by capitalism.

CEO’s on their knees, bowing low: “And it was a real pleasure to be of service to you.”

All of us pay more for goods and services when, as with the Untouchables era protection money, the cost has to be added to our bills.

Put the 83 billion and the Ukraine wasted billions into a fund to cure diabetes and cancer. Even if it doesn’t work it’s toward a better goal than rear end kissing.

That came straight out of earnings. Corporate officers not fulfilling their fiduciary duties to shareholders.

There have been financially regularities reported regarding the finances of Black Lives Matter.

If I recall correctly their fundraising has been suspended in some states, and a new treasurer had been hired to sort it all out. Among other issues they have failed to file required tax information forms which are required of registered charitable organizations.

But it’s probably racist to say anything about that.

In any event, it had been reported they had hired someone to grapple with the financial irregularities.

Shakedown?

I'd say the ruling class paid them for doing what the ruling class wanted.

Sorry, the article is confusing $83 MILLION with $83 BILLION< which is 1,000 times as much. BLM got $83 million; i.e., $83,000,000.

The word “shakedown” suggests the corporations weren't complicit.
I disagree.
The CEOs and boards voting to send the money weren't taking it out of their own pockets, they raised prices in unison to make America pay for it's destruction.

The way these issues get discussed in this politically correct world we live in, is that you and your company would be considered racist if you declined to contribute to Black Lives Matter.

So the CEOs, being afraid of being called racist, make Financial contributions to prove that they are not racist. They can’t just issue statementssaying that they were troubled by the death of George Floyd. They feel compelled to say it with dollars.

Two thoughts:

1) I hope conservative voters remember this the next time if there is ever a GOP President and Congress proposing a huge corporate tax reduction such as the one passed during the first two years of Trump’s term by the GOP majority Congress.

2) It seems as though reparations have been paid. If anyone in the black community feels they didn’t get their share, a list of the beneficiaries of this corporate largess should be handed to them. They can collect their share from the community leaders and organizations who profess to be working for them.

Yep. Where’s the money for all the businesses they destroyed? All the property they destroyed? All the cops who were physically harmed? And that fat bitch buys multiple mansions with the money and lives it up when she should be in prison. Leave it to Rats and RINOs to make terrorism extremely profitable. Meanwhile a mentally disabled veteran wearing Viking horns is given a tour of the capital and he’s locked up for 4 years.
