(CNN)--A US contractor was killed on Thursday in Syria after a suspected Iranian-affiliated drone struck a facility housing US personnel in northeastern Syria, the Pentagon said in a statement Thursday.

Five US service members and additional US contractor were wounded in the strike.

"The intelligence community assess the UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) to be of Iranian origin," according to the statement.

In response, President Joe Biden authorized a precision airstrike...

The US has no more right to be in Syria than Russia does to be in Ukraine.

True.

We should focus our military on deporting people invading the U.S., rather than us invading other countries.

“Live by the proxy war...Die by the proxy war.”

It’s not even a proxy war - it’s a straight-out OCCUPATION by the Neocons on Syrian land, with the same legal basis that Russia has in Ukraine.

But it does sound like Syria is starting to get fed up with us. I wonder if the Ukraine Cheerleaders will agree that the US need to be kicked out of Syria?

When we invade, it's a war of liberation. When others invade, it's a war of aggression.

When we overthrow a government, it's a color revolution. When others overthrow a government, it's an illegal coup.

Our thugs are freedom fighters. Their thugs are terrorists.

Too funny. But I am still waiting to hear from the Ukraine Cheerleaders, as the AGGRESSION by the Neocons in Syria is FAR MORE clear-cut than the claimed aggression by Russia in Ukraine, considering that areas liberated in Ukraine, so far are Russian-speaking, and that they’ve also VOTED to join Russia. Nothing like that can be said for our occupation of part of Syria.

In response, President Joe Biden authorized a precision airstrike “in eastern Syria against facilities used by groups affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC),

Biden will show 'em, just like he did before!

You don’t understand. Biden really NEEDS to humiliate Putin so
he can run on that in 2024 if he is still alive.

I doubt Biden even knows that 2024 is next year...as far as Putin goes, the hatred towards Putin is very similar to the hatred towards Trump, and the same type of people - women, mostly, and men who are p-whipped (including a few here, LOL).

Exactly, but our current generation pale in comparison to Eisenhower.

Remember Martha Raddatz saying that Tim Kaine didn’t trust Trump with his son’s life? My son was in the Marines but he did not reenlist. I think that was wise, considering Biden is running the US military, or is supposed to. Somebody crazier than Biden really may be calling the shots now.

At least it’s only a relative few in Syria. In Poland I suspect we have at least 50,000 there by now, many who take off their uniforms, ‘retire’ from the military, go into Ukraine as ‘mercenaries’, and then come back and rejoin the military. Not sure just how ‘voluntary’ that program is, but probably doesn’t need much coercion, given peer pressure there.

But also many others who want no part of being cannon-fodder for Russia, once Ukraine is spent...feel bad for them and their families.

Convenient. Just as DC is really angry about the Saudi/Iran and Turk/Syrian peace deals.

Need something to get lit off so our Syria scam doesn’t fall apart.

Thanks, I wasn’t aware that our ex-soldiers were in danger of being fed into the meat grinder. My son was in Hawaii/Japan/Korea but could have been deployed in Ukraine later if they ran out of cannon fodder.

Is the deep state afraid/angry Russia will be allowed to use a Syrian port to export oil and gas?
