Also, the prosecution is not required to provide exculpatory evidence to the defendant prior to indictment, arraignment, and plea.
The lawyer is repeating statements which Cohen later stated were lies. You can believe Cohen or not as you choose, but the letter doesn’t clear Trump.

A grand jury is not usually shown exculpatory evidence by the DA. That doesn’t occur till pre trial requests come from defense. The Brady Rule.

It appears he had no legal obligation to do so although his decision to pursue an indictment when possessing this as well as other “exculpatory” documentation makes his ethical misfeasance prodigious.
