I think Bragg is trying to figure out a way to walk back the pending indictment given the unexpected outrage from even some on the left and solid legal analysis from respected legal experts (Andrew Weissmann doesn’t count as an expert).

Trump-haters are so sure their long-awaited day has arrived, they may actually be the ones rioting should the indictment not come. I don’t think the amount of hate against Trump is as widespread as the media tries to pretend. They live in a DC/NY bubble and never actually get the views of those in fly-over states, although they sometimes pretend that they do.

It’s possible Bragg never intended for it to get to this point, but that the Obama/Clinton cabal started leaking imaginary reports to the media stating the indictment was imminent in order to push him into acting. Just a theory.

The revelation that exculpatory evidence from Cohen’s former counsel was withheld from the grand jury, does not help Bragg’s case.

Sounds like the DA is getting cold feet?

Nope. They need more time to leak false information so the compliant and unquestioning media can further trash Trump.

I am beginning to think this was a fundraiser for the NY Democratic party.

Bragg isn’t worried about creating a political martyr, he’s worried about ethics charges down the road.

Robert Costello provided copies of emails between himself and Michael Cohen that Costello says contradict what Cohen has been saying about the payoff to Stormy Daniels. He also testified about direct conversations he had with Cohen which contradict what Cohen has said.

I expect Trump to be indicted. Bragg is just trying to figure out a way to justify the indictment in the face of evidence showing that Cohen is lying about what he did for Trump. Cohen is already a convicted perjurer, if Bragg indicts when he has evidence that Cohen is lying again, he’s putting himself in a dangerous position professionally.

They want that perp-walk picture of Trump in cuffs soooo very badly... It’s their holy grail.

You wonder is the New York DA starting to get cold feet because he could create a political martyr....

Likely because he was cut off at the knees.

Hush money? What hush money? In 2017, it was reported thatg Congress paid out $17M in sealed agreements for, at least in part, sexual misadventures.

Did Tara Reade get any money after Brandon allegedly digitally penetrated her while Brandon was a Senator? Did Brandon learn that technique while in the shower with his daughter?

The Democrat big boys are seeing Trump’s numbers trending upwards and are getting nervous.

The hearing is called off. The process isn't, it's delayed.

They're going to keep it as an arrow in their quiver to use against Trump if they feel like they can do so without making him into a martyr. They also probably don't want to rush things -- they like dragging out non-stories to make them sound like long epic adventures.

FWIW, has to do with federal grand juries and Brady material, per Fedzilla...

9-11.233 - PRESENTATION OF EXCULPATORY EVIDENCE In United States v. Williams, 112 S.Ct. 1735 (1992), the Supreme Court held that the Federal courts' supervisory powers over the grand jury did not include the power to make a rule allowing the dismissal of an otherwise valid indictment where the prosecutor failed to introduce substantial exculpatory evidence to a grand jury. It is the policy of the Department of Justice, however, that when a prosecutor conducting a grand jury inquiry is personally aware of substantial evidence that directly negates the guilt of a subject of the investigation, the prosecutor must present or otherwise disclose such evidence to the grand jury before seeking an indictment against such a person. While a failure to follow the Department's policy should not result in dismissal of an indictment, appellate courts may refer violations of the policy to the Office of Professional Responsibility for review.

Bild and italics are mine. [cited in JM 9-5.001]

Sounds more like some of the DA office’s staff is getting cold feet. Bragg was going to ride this to glory and sacrifice his staff along the way.

Hmmm, if I were to venture a guess, might the lefties be toying with Mister Trump?

That’s exactly what’s going on. Endless jokes on late night TV, etc. Dems live and breath for this stuff.

That would be my guess.

They see this thing working in Trump's favor...and they've got a losing case.

Trial balloon up. Results in. Arresting Trump hurts the cause.

Now let’s hear our justice system claim its not political. They now are if they do indict him and if they don’t indict him. Fine corner they painted themselves into.
