Turley: Bragg Seems to Be Caving to Pressure to Bring Case DOJ, His Predecessor Wouldn’t, Unsuccessful Edwards Case Was ‘Much Stronger’

On Saturday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” George Washington University Law Professor and Fox News Contributor Jonathan Turley stated that the potential legal case against former President Donald Trump is significantly weaker than the John Edwards case and that he believes that if Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg brings charges, it would be because Bragg caved to public pressure.

Turley said, “[T]he John Edwards case, that was a much stronger case, the Department of Justice went all in, and they lost, ultimately. Because these are very difficult cases to make out. Now, you take that, and now you have the Manhattan D.A. taking a case to court that the Department of Justice declined to do…and that raises some obvious questions.”

Bragg is a Fat, Stupid, Affirmative Action, Token, RACIST POS. Bragg should waddle his fat ass down to Florida and make the arrest himself.

Bragg being “pressured” as if he doesn’t want to do this? Yeah right.

"“[T]he John Edwards case, that was a much stronger case, the Department of Justice went all in, and they lost, ultimately."

John Edwards who ran for President in 2008, but dropped out because it was discovered he had a baby mama/mistress, and paid her off with campaign money. Edwards was charged with 6 counts of violating various federal campaign laws in 2011. He was found guilty of one, and because the jury couldn't agree on the other five charges, the Judge called a mistrial. The DOJ chose not to re-try.

I'd say the DOJ wasn't interested in winning this case. They gave up without a fight. Obama was in the White House, and Holder was Attorney General.

Finally, someone is publicly comparing this to the Edwards case.

And Edwards was tried in his home state of North Carolina, which was friendly to him.

President Trump would be facing a hostile New York court system.

Just posted this on another thread:

"Which brings us to the statute of limitations. Andrew McCarthy, former Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York explains that the statute for a felony crime of falsification is five years, while a misdemeanor expires after only two."

Which means 2016 + 5 years = 2021.

F*ck of Alvin.

And Edwards was a Democrat.

I’ve read the headline 10 times, and it still doesn’t make any sense.

Turley is not yet sufficiently cynical. He forgets Edwards was a D. So of course a NY jury acquitted him. Trump is everything a NY jury hates. He will be convicted regardless of the law or evidence.

The alleged crime took place 7 years ago. There is a five year statute of limitations even for a felony. Seven is more than five. But math is racist.

We may see how preposterous and partisan this is, and we have a couple of Democrat legal minds (Turley and Dershowitz) on our side, but most of the public will get its news from the mainstream media, who will no doubt saturate the air waves with explanations of why Trump deserves to be prosecuted and found guilty.

It may be the Democrats have already prepared a gaslighting "riot" by pretend Trump supporters like Charlottesville and January 6th.

They’re going ahead w/ this BS even though the statute of limitations has run its limit?

It’s worse than we thought... how dishonest and politics-worshiping the Ds are.

I know it may sound “medieval” but they appear to be utterly possessed by the devil
