Maybe one of them will get a Trump endorsement. But they might play games with Democrats changing their registration to Republican to help Pierre.
Utah's primary system starts with the GOP convention. If anyone fails to get a majority there, there is a primary run-off. Candidates are free to file for the primary run-off anyway, and they do. In 2022, the Romneyites tried to primary Mike Lee and, failing gloriously, got quietly behind the "independent" CIA-Gadianton man Even McMullin.
They failed there as well as Lee won reelection handily.
