I wasn’t addressing your point about DeSantis declaring or not declaring, if not DeSantis, then who?, etc. I was addressing the contentions you made about DeSantis being more successful than Trump.

I think I’ve been sucessful in discrediting your assertion that DeSantis has been more successful than Trump on immigration issues. Your rebuttal is not really a refutation of my points but rather “Of course DeSantis can’t fight on the Federal level”. But when it comes to DeSantis’s alleged greater success on “wokeism” issues, you fail to mention that there are certain powers that a Governor possesses over which the President has no authority. Does DeSantis’s greater success in fighting “wokery”, which you allege without providing any examples, owe itself to these particular powers?

As far as Trump’s track record on conservative “wokeism” type issues, it’s actually pretty good. I’m not talking about his personal opinions on these issues but on policy. Whatever Trump’s personal opinion on gay marriage may be, he’s not tried to impose it, leaving it to the states to decide. On issues over which he had actual control, he did rather well, banning trans from serving in the military, issuing an EO to curtail the Johnson Amendment, and of course allowing Roe v Wade to be overturned via his Supreme Court appointments. Additionally, he’s been strongly critical of men competing in women’s sports.

Again, I said that no one else has been as effective as DeSantis, except Trump. But ok you win. However, only one of them did get reelected...
