Israel is exploring the possibility of supplying Ukraine with its state-of-the-art Iron Dome anti-missile defense system, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday.

"The issue of arms supplies was considered and rejected by the previous Israeli government. I will study this issue and answer this matter in the most adequate manner," Netanyahu said in an interview with the French LCI channel.

He, however, said that Israel has to review its options and to take into consideration its interests in the region.

Israel's "contribution will probably be in other areas," the Israeli premier added.

Israel needs Iron Dome for itself first and they have only 10 to 15 batteries. That's a handful compared to the number of Patriot or other SAM systems.

If it does go to Ukraine, and I think its a big if, it will get placed to defend civilian areas from the most missiles or most costly damage.

The Israeli high command and Russian military leadership have a working group that addresses issues in Syria, Iran and other middle eastern countries. Why would Israel in their right mind supply highly classified weapons systems to Ukraine, knowing all to well that Russia will eventually get their hands on one?
