House Judiciary meeting goes off the rails amid debate over rule to say pledge of allegiance

An organizational meeting of the House Judiciary Committee turned into a bitter debate over a proposed amendment to committee rules that would require the recitation of the pledge of allegiance at the beginning of committee meetings, allowing members to bring in constituents to lead it if they wish.

The amendment, put forth by Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., was met with a challenge and another amendment by Rep. David Cicilline, D-R.I., who said anyone who supported an insurrection against the United States should be barred from leading the pledge. ..

Several Republicans were dismayed that the matter was being debated at all....

...Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, blasted Democrats for their opposition to basic principles, citing not just the pledge but a recent proposal in the House Rules Committee to condemn socialism....

Pretty much everyone in government questions the loyalty of everyone in government. Some folks may not be loyal enough to America, and others may not be loyal enough to “our democracy”. The two camps are at an impasse.

It’s like how demonically possessed behave during an exorcism. When presented with the symbol of the cross, they go absolutely berserk. You can get an idea of what it’s like by listening to Fr. Malacki Martins’ interview on the Art Bell show. It’s a multi-hour interview.

Furthermore,,they would figure out that the word “Republic” is in the Pledge, not democrat. Why people refer to our form of government as a democracy is beyond me. Even the Republicans failed high school civics.

They need to dig into WHY an audit the as not conducted even tho Constitutionally warranted

dems are panicked to avoid any questions of election tampering and/or ballot fraud as they certified the election as ‘fraud free’

And if the election was found to be fraudulent... they’d all be going to jail

Cicciline shouldn’t even be in Congress. Rhode Island was supposed to lose one of its two congressthings after the 2020 Census due to population loss but like a lot of things being done by federal bureaucrats lately, the numbers were “adjusted” so that RI and several other Dem states magically had just enough people to maintain the size of their House delegations; this robbed the Rs of a good 5-7 House seats nationwide, including that of RI, which would have gone to Texas, Florida and Tennessee.

Personally, the “one nation” bit has always rankled me.

How can a republic derive just powers without the consent of the governed? When it indeed became necessary for our people to dissolve the political bands which had connected us with one another, and to assume, among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature’s God entitle us, we were denied.

Consenting to one sections of an oath, such as “republic” or “under God,” does not justify the swearing of another; it makes me a liar and an oathbreaker. The failure of others to understand my reasoning has no bearing on my decision.
