Turkey's opposition vowed on Monday to crimp the president's powers and broadly expand democratic rights if they seize power in May 14 presidential and parliamentary polls.
The six parties that are united against President Recep Tayyip Erdogan also pledged to agree on February 13 to a joint candidate for the crucial vote -- widely seen as Turkey's most consequential in generations.

Erdogan in a landslide or else ...
Being democratically elected is “seizing power”? I don’t know if the headline author is biased in favor of the present regime, or just has a really poor grasp of English
In a country of just under 85 million, will it be announced that President Recep Tayyip Erdogan won with 81 million votes?
I expect the same troll farms that are paid to come here and promote Putin have accepted similar contracts for the Turkish despot,
Im surprised Erdogan is allowing an election I thought he declared himself President for life. He has removed any in the military who opposed him too. I would be glad to see him go and it would be good for Turkey and Europe and even NATO if he were gone.
You think they cheat in our elections, you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Yeah, but we all know, it ain’t gonna happen.
Lived there, know that.

They have all gone mad...
This earthquake is going to have all kinds of implications for the Ukraine/Russia mess. Might be a good time for Putin to pack up and go home so he can offer aid to Turkey and Syria and look lika a good guy for a change as well as strengthen his cred in those 2 countries. Europe will have a lot of decisions to make on where there aid goes. Also who to help in Turkey to encourage elections in May of people more friendly to NATO than Erduwon.
I also wonder if we will have other big quakes in this full moon cycle or the next new moon?
Maybe it would be time for Biden to lift sanctions on Syria ? The world watches.
