In the wake of a shooting between Antifa terrorists and law enforcement at the site of a future public safety training facility and domestic terrorist activity in downtown Atlanta, Gov. Brian Kemp (R-Ga.) declared a 15-day state of emergency that allows him to call up the National Guard to deal with these out-of-town insurgents if need be.
Kemp wrote in his five-page executive order:
WHEREAS: In consultation with public safety officials and emergency preparedness officials, I have determined that the following actions are necessary and appropriate to protect public peace and provide for the safety and welfare of Georgia’s citizens, visitors, and property.
NOW, THEREFORE, PURSUANT TO THE AFOREMENTIONED GEORGIA LAW, CODE SECTION 38-3-51, CODE SECTION 45-12-29, AND THE AUTHORITY VESTED IN ME AS THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF GEORGIA, IT IS HEREBY
ORDERED: That because of unlawful assemblage, violence, overt threats of violence, disruption of the peace and tranquility of this state and danger existing to persons and property, a State of Emergency is declared in the State of Georgia.
The order comes as tensions could ratchet back up this weekend after five Memphis police officers face murder charges in the beating death of a suspect.
“The continued anti-police movement in Atlanta could also be further enflamed by the charging of five former Memphis police officers with second-degree murder and other crimes in the arrest and death of Tyre Nichols, a Black motorist who died three days after a traffic stop confrontation,” reports Fox 5. “Body camera video of the incident is expected to be released on Friday evening.”

When there was no declaration of emergency, the police still arrested the rioters.

My question was WHAT EVENT should trigger calling the state of emergency? You seem to be saying that this declaration by Kemp is unecessary at this time.

OK, but it does not answer my question regarding “WHAT EVENT” should trigger an emergency declaration. Or should it never be used at all?
I’ll have to ruminate on that and get back to you if I don’t forget. The easy answer is natural disasters of a monstrous nature but I’d rather be thorough.

He’s in campaign mode now. He’s trying to make himself out to be Mr Law and Order. Funny how he didn’t do any of that in 2020.
He’s sold the state out to any corporation that comes here from California. Hopefully, there’s a law in the state that he has to give up his position as Governor to run and he’ll ride off into the sunset. Getting his a$$ handed to him, never to return to Georgia. One can hope.

Trying to school them on how to open up a state for big business. Well, given that the vampires at Davos wrote the book on how to swindle state and local governments out of taxpayer money, the Dope From Good Hope was preaching to the choir, who were laughing at him the whole time as they rake in billions from Georgia taxpayers.
Not too long ago he filed paperwork with the FEC for, what? No one is doing that unless they’re planning on moving on to something else, I imagine.

The shooting was between the dead guy and the Georgia State Patrol. So, one of the first questions that needs answering is why GSP was in the woods owned by the city of Atlanta, in Dekalb County, trying to get rid of these nasty hippies that have been there for about a year?
Ones that chased a tow truck driver, who was trying to tow a car out of the woods, and lit both the car and tow truck on fire. I don’t remember hearing about any arrests from that.

Maybe hes taken the lesson of the “Summer of Live” in Portland and Seattle to heart and is preemptively trying to prevent this from happening in Atlanta.
You don’t know much about who runs this state and that city.
